Bleacher Report question

It's not hard to feel like you are getting information if you play it right and look the part but do not be surprised if the information you get is not from the inside, not particularly exciting, and not in fact true. Particularly with the Panthers there is never any news and wild speculation is the norm.

Most of the publications, websites, and other media outlets are created in effort to get stuff for free for minimal effort. The remainder of the outlets are created by real fans usually with minimal skill and major outlets in business to sell ad spots.

This truly is what our news "sources" are made of.

Bleacher seems to be fairly thorough and looks legit. Whoever, probably several people, puts it together is likely getting standard press release alerts as well as access. Access to the sidelines, lunches, press conference, press box, maybe even locker room. I am not sure BR is printing anything but if you are, and its not that expensive, you can really solidify yourself as a legit "outlet" and depending on what you cover and how often you print (and a few other well executed tricks) you can get PP to just about anything you want. If you have a few guys who are already buying season tix of at least two sports, college or Pro on an individual(family) basis to pool resources for print and "production" efforts you can likely get more access than you ever imagined for about the same annual sports budget or less and have oodles of goodies to hand out to friends and clients. And how much fun would that be?

I mean, that's what I heard anyway.

When was the last time any of you read anything from AP about the Panthers or whatever else you are into that blew you away? Think about it. It's not that hard to pose. Bleacher Report looks legit to me. I'd hand them PP to cover my team. Why not?

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
