Cam Is Great, Cam Is Good. Let Us Thank Him....

We get it. Cam is a great QB and we are all glad he is our franchise QB. I am a huge fan--looking forward to the season with the anticipation of a child before Christmas.

However, some of you act like teenage girls after buying their first Justin Bieber CDs. "Cam had a good summer!" "They do not like Cam in rival cites!!" "Cheez Whiz owner says Cam is a good football Player!!!" "Cam's socks match his shoes in very cool way!!!"

Come on. I realize that it is the offseason, and I realize that some of you will accuse me of atheism because I did not buy a chocolate Cam for Easter. Cam is a great player and I am a big fan, but I really think the Cam obsession is cluttering up things on the Huddle. Just start a thread called "CAM."

Cam's threads are cluttering up the huddle and preventing you from easily finding what? The same rehashed draft pick thread that has endless iterations to choose from? Jersey threads? Threads about The Golden Calf of Bristol and/or Jets and/or Fox and/or Denver? Mayocks latest draft? For fug's sake dude, he's the player that most of the media wants to write about on this team, get the fug over it.

I like having a superstar. Also unlike The Golden Calf of Bristol or Romo Newton has actually earned it. He splits the difference between being a media darling and a spectacular football player. The Cam love is nice as long as we mix it a healthy amount of love for the team. That's what annoyed me about "The Golden Calf of Bristol Time".

Well, it's not like anyone is holding a gun to your head and making you open a thread, much less come to the site. Cam and Carolina go hand-in-hand now. He truly is the face of the franchise. Just accept it and move on. When there are more interesting things to talk about, someone will put it on the table. If you are suffering from Cam fatigue in the Huddle, you'll just have to find a way to maneuver around the Camania.

While I agree with you for the most part MHS I think threads like this don't help either. Let people be happy... ignore the shitty threads. It is not like there is a ton going on and the crap threads are blotting out the good stuff. There's just nothing happening so people decided to talk about Cam's socks.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
