Who Is Going To Lead This Locker Room?

Cam and Beason mainly. Come on guys. I'm just as stoked as most of you about our new 1st rounder but crown the guy yet. Still hasen't played a down in the NFL yet. We don't know what kinda locker room guy he'll be yet.

There is going to be ambiguity at Beason/Kuechly year two, maybe this year. Beast is my boy but Rivera is setting a new atmosphere, and it it is not accidental. Choose sides now because I do not think this will be amicable.

ugh.

cue the drama queens.

we've got the panthers version of twilight starting up. team "key" vs. team "beast" .

much ado about nothing, really, but have fun trying to make it a suspenseful "battle for the heart of the lockerroom".

beason is the biggest leader of the D, but he isn't the only one and he shouldn't be. the job of the leader is to keep everyone motivated and on task. this isn't a situation where "there can be only one". the team is only going to be helped by us adding another prospective leader. there is more than enough room for beason and kuechly. there won't be any territorial pissing battle of egos.

Judging on how leaders are developed in my experience on my football teams.... Cam and Beason are very outspoken, and the most talented, so they automatically get respect. Smith is the talented vet that not even beason or Cam really want to fug with, so he automatically is respected.... Davis will probably not lead as much, since he will be on the bench.... sadly... Then you have Kalil, who seems to have the most charisma of the Oline.

The O is Cam's and not only by virtue of his position, but because he came in and earned it.

Beason on D, hands down. If I had to point to two guys this team "belongs" to it would be 1 and 52. All the other have their roles, some bigger than others, but those two have the biggest impact on the team and their respective sides of rage ball, IMO.

I don't think the players nor any of the coaches look at it that way.

Peyton Manning's and Ray Lewis's are clear faces and leaders of their franchises but it is not necessary of a team to have one and it is ignorant beyond ignorant to attempt to bestow, anoint, or in other words force leadership on a player for any reason.

see Julius Peppers

Leader's emerge. There can be more than one. The more a team has, the better a team is as all true leaders want what is best for whatever "team" they are a part of. Success.

Not sure if the rookie is a loud boisterous kind of guy. Tell me if you know for certain. He's strikes me as more of a quiet "get poo done" type and I think I would prefer it that way if he's lining up next to the Beast.

and...

Philosphically it doesnt get more accurate than that.

Offensively-Cam, Gross, Kalil, and Smith

Defensively-Beason, and Davis (if he's around), my money is on Kuechly replacing Davis in a season or two.

Smitty I don't think has ever been a legit leader in Carolina. Not in the sense implied here. He is just a badass who occasional gets a C on his jersey for his play.
