Pats releasing Chad Ochocinco

He just got cut from the Indoor Football league team because he refused to play road games.

He's washed up.

Which only further proves my point. It is his character that is the issue, not his talent. He didn't get cut for being washed up. He got cut for being stubborn.

Why would anyone want a receiver that has Brady as a qb and never gets open. Hell He throws people open, this guy is done. And who takes any man serious that changes his last name to a damn number

Chad was neve on the field....couldn't learn the offense.

Not every good WR could learn and mesh in the NE offense....with no offseason. NE offense makes the WRs read the defense more heavily than most. There routes are often determined by the D more than most offenses.

Those saying he couldn't get open with Brady have no idea what they are talking about. The Patriots ask a lot out of their receivers. According to Brushci, they change their playbook daily and have to be able to learn on the fly. He still has talent and can contribute. The Patriots are just complex.

He played with Smith in college. Whatever the relevance that has 12 years later. Oh, it doesn't.

I also don't care thay he's an out going person.

His production the last two years says we'd be wasting our time, and Richardson's money.

I'd rather watch our young receivers grow with Cam.

chad johnson is the next T.O....basically washed up.

I don't believe 85 is washed up in any shape fashion or form. People began saying T.O. was washed up before he actually was. In fact, it really took an injury (along with his attitude) to take him out the game. T.O. was even productive his last year if you admit the truth. More productive than any other WR we have other than Smith last year. Speaking of Smith, people had the audacity to insinuate that 89 was washed up before Cam exposed that lie for what it was.

Call me naive, but I just don't think 85 fit the Patriot Way profile. He wasn't one of Brady and the Hoody's pets, and I think that it says more about the Patriots than 85's ability to play WR. A person of 85's past stature doesn't just fall off the cliff that fast in his early thirties. He probably has 1-3 productive years in the tank.

Competition is key, and it's not like our WRs can't use some real competition to push the whole unit towards excellence.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
