The issue is that Beason, Anderson and Davis are all tackling machines while on the field. Kuechly won't be able to rack up insane tackle numbers just due to the fact that he won't be required to clean up for other poor linebackers. If he makes a huge impact blitzing the passer and gets a few picks along with a good deal of tackles (i still think he'll get 100+, just not like 140) he has a shot.

Anybody who thinks that TD will impact kuechly's stats has lost their fuging mind. Not hating on TD at all, I don't think he is done. I feel as though TD will be eased in with baby steps this time, because at this point he is a luxury. You don't drive a vintage Ferrari in a hurricane if you dont have to.

The chances of Luke winning DROY are about the same as my getting lucky tonight. Well, um, maybe he has a better chance than I do after all.

Can't wait to see how Rivera uses his LBs this year? My giddy is peaked, and I can't stop it. And GOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pretty high, especially if he plays MLB- which all signs point to that he will

Not that I am calling you out or anything like that. But... link? From all indications I have seen/read/heard. I have no clue, nor does anyone for that matter, what Rivera has planned for this group. So I am probably not alone in wanting any new information you can bring to the table.

Sure Davis is going to be eased back in. Sure Luke will be playing all three positions, as he translates into a starting LB, but so will Jon, James, and Thomas. Sure they will be moved in and out, sideways and longways, as we experiment with schemes and players. We can all speculate, that is what we as fans do. Cuz what Rivera has up his sleeve is a bigger secret than why my dog follows the wife around. Damm I hate that w...

Whomever Rivera has the most confidence in will play. No matter the palyer, or the position.

Darin Gantt, who has a really good feel for the Panthers says here he believes it's been the plan all along. He even says he has sources that people within the organization went to Beason prior to the draft to discuss it with him

starts around 12:30

so not to call you out, but it sounds like you were duped by the classic "Oh well we are just going to play the best players....yah dah yah dah."

Bullshit. You don't draft a guy 9th overall without being 99% sure where he is going to play.

I understand where you are coming from, and how you got there. I like Gantt and trust his ensight and knowledge. And normally a #9 pick is pencilled in right away. However, this circumstance is just a tad south of normal. We already have a Pro Bowl MLB. We already have a Pro Bowl WLB. And our Sam LB played at a Pro Bowl level last year. That is a far cry from a normal situation for a rookie.

Sure Davis probably will be eased back in. If he can prove everyone wrong, Luke has his work cut out for him. Too many questions to be able to assert that any one scenario is set in stone. Which is the main reason behind my enthusiasm. The uncertainty is intoxicating. And with my wife, intoxicating is preferable. JK

I know I will be spending more time than normal at TC this year. Too much going on to not be there first hand. I love the camp update threads and all. But nothing beats being there. And this year I plan on being there a good bit. I know that was useless information, but once it leaves my brain, I have no control.

Anyone that claims to know where each player will be lined up at any given moment is feeding you a line of yada yada.

It's sad to say but I think he will lose his chance if Anderson. Beason, and Davis stay healthy. It's going to take a someone getting hurt and him stepping up. We also have the possibility of Davis not playing at full speed.

He was the 9th overall pick...he will be on the field..100%...
