Gettis on PUP

ACL reconstruction recovery for a receiver takes longer than for a guy who doesn't have to cut sharply on just about every play. It doesn't mean Gettis won't play simply that it takes more time. Most running backs need almost 18-24 months to fully recover. Sure they can play in 6-8 months but to fully recover it takes longer. Look at Hogan for example, the same thing applies to corners.

There is one real reason that this is being done. To free up roster space for camp. This allows them to stash Gettis on the Pup while allowing them to keep another WR longer into camp without cutting him. This gives them more time to evaluate the 10million WR's they have coming to camp.

With the new PUP rules in place, this is exactly why we placed Gettis on the PUP.
