Mike Wallace

Steelers are about to dangle him. lets make our offense even more dynamic.. The steelers signed antonio brown yesterday instead of giving the money to wallace like they should have.. if they let him walk they'll get a 3rd round pick, at the very end of the round. i'd offer our 2014 3rd rounder for him. since we don't have next years.. it allows them to move up a couple of picks, hopefully only 1 :) i know i'll get eaten alive for this. "trading a pick". but his talent and speed is undeniable. he can be our future #1 and allow us to move smitty around A LOT more. smitty, wallace, lafell, gettis, murphy, adams, pilares. we'd have to keep 7 recievers on the active roster but we could because our o-line has so much versatility. highly doubtful. but what do yall think?we got olsen for a 3rd and it wasn't even reported we were interested until the day the trade happened. why not get wallace? whatcha'll think? but with that said i do love the squad we have and have full confidence we can compete for a championship with the roster we have!

While he'd be a perfect heir for Smitty, and based on talent and value alone I'd probably even offer a 2nd for him (or maybe a 2014 2nd), right now the money ain't right for this move (needing to resign Stewart, etc) and I'm sure they wanna see what they have in the young fellas they have currently.

Now after this season, if the possibility is still there and Murphy, Gettis, Pilares and Adams (assuming those are the other 4 WRs on our roster with Smitty and Lafell) all look like they don't have much potential then F yea, go get Wallace.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
