Peter King: Torrey Smith Should Teach Cam Newton Life Lessons 101

LOL so proven leaders are allowed to sulk more... got it.

Yes actually they are.

They have already established their mental toughness and maturity.

As much as I love what he can do for the franchise Cam has yet to prove either and putting an end to the pouting would be a great first step.

Peter King is using our QB to reaffirm his whiteness. As are some of our idiot fans. Using Torrey Smiths dead brother to take a shot at the super athlete QB is typical of the whole twirp crowd. Shows you how much he values a black life. Will he use Andy Reids dead son to chastise Belichiks behavior last night? Can he reaffirm himself throwing him under the bus?

I agree. There is a huge difference between hating to lose and pouting / sulking. You can hate to lose but still take time to learn from your mistakes and rally the guys around you. Keep your head up and just plan to come out on the next drive and make something special happen. As of now, Cam does not appear to have that mentality.

And then what? What comes after that first step? Let's get it all out on the table now. What does Cam Newton have to do to gain your approval?

Play me in Madden.

Kidding aside cleaning up the sideline behavior is about all he would need to do in my eyes.

If he were my son Id be on his ass to take his losses like a man and go back and prepare harder for the next game.

Look, don't get me wrong here. I'm a huge fan of the kid and am thrilled he is in a Panthers uniform but if he is going to take us to the Promised Land then he is going to have to find a way to keep his lows from being so low.

Cam needs to save that woe is me poo for his girlfriend.

Win or lose he needs to stand on the sidelines engaged in the game and then handle the press conf like a man. The pouting is so fuging Pop Warner that is reflects poorly on the entire team.

He needs to lead and you cant do it only when things are going good.

Seams like we've been down the "physical freak and gifted athlete who cant/wont be a leader" road once before.

And btw, I hope everyone took note of not just one person but the ENTIRE Ravens team on the sidelines last night. The coaches, players, everyone engaging and interacting...looking at the playbooks (Reed & Lewis especially) trying to figure out how to adjust mid-game. Actively communicating with each other and trying to understand what New England was changing and doing on their side of things. Its lightyears beyond where we are atm as a TEAM.

When Cam had proven himself to be a leader on par with Brady I think everyone will forgive him for sulking from time to time.

As it is we see more pouting than leading and thats not good.

What the fug is leading? Cam leads by how the team is performing..him cheering on the sideline isn't going to change that score last thursday one bit. I don't give a fug what the media or boneheaded fans like you think, there is nothing wrong with the way cam acted.

I agree again

I get that everyone is trying to justify what's been pretty much blown out of proportion by saying the kid doesn't like losing...but that comes with every single professional athlete. Its cool guys, this shows he really doesn't like losing...haha. Its beyond the point. It's in how you handle the losses and move forward that you can become great.

In game wise imo: Stop stretching away from the huddle, not communicating, and get into the game/figure sh*t out when you're not playing. I'm merely a fan but there comes a point where its obvious there is not enough communication going on the sidelines. Communication and adapting to what's going on is everything and our whole team just kinda brainfarts all over the place.
