Not every coordinator is the next Rivera... This notion that every coordinator will fail makes me glad y'all arn't doing the hiring process.

That said, guys like Winston Moss and Mike Zimmer should top that list. Both are highly regarded around the league and most feel they are next in line.

I completely agree with this. As much as I would like a young and up and coming guy I just feel JR isn't going to waste any time in getting this team on the right track. If Cowher, Gruden, or Dungy guys we have to pursue then we have to get it done.

Agree 100% .... I do not want a cooridinator or even a college as our next HC to see if he can make it in the NFL. I want a former HC who has already had success in the NFL.

who said that they all fail?

i said that they are more inclined to fail, esp. in their first attempt at the HC gig.

there is a learning curve involved for coordinators that i honestly don't think we can afford to mess around with.

and yes...i'm as happy that i'm not involved in the hiring process as i am that you aren't esp. when t's jumping on the zimmer and moss bandwagons. don't know why anyone thinks that they would be particulary good as HCs. they're just liked and respected for the jobs they do, but i don't think that qualifies as being solid candidates for a HC gig. being good at one job doesn't ensure success at another.

What does everyone think about Chucky?

i think his team hated him and saw him as an egotistical argumentative little prick and were glad to see him go.

i think despite his QB pre-draft shows that he was horrible with QBs in tampa and was considered a laughing stock for his QB collecing and throw poo at the wall and see what sticks approach to deciding on a starter.

i think he needs to stay with the MNF gig.

do. not. want.

I'm with Rayzor on this one. Someone with NFL experience in a successful program and has been a successful head coach either in the NFL or college.

Some college coaches are worth considering if they have good experience in the NFL. A must though, is that they have been a HC at some level.

Please, no Chip Kelly, Gruden, or Ryan boys.
