Dear Santa,

Remember in 1984 when I asked for an Optimus Prime Transformer and you brought me a Gobot instead? Well, you still owe me, fat man, and now I am cashing in. Put down the insulin injections and listen up.

You see, this year I just want to feel a little better about the Panthers, if only for a day. I am tired of feeling like I am watching a team coached by Cousin Eddie as he empties his chemical toilet. I want to feel like the Carolinas have an honest to goodness legitimate NFL team with a future.

What will make me feel this way? I am glad you asked.

This Christmas I would like for the Panthers to beat the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and send them on a downward spiral ending in yet another "one and done" postseason. At the very least, this will prevent me from the inevitable bourbon induced January coma.

Do these things and all is forgiven.

      Would you take a chance on Cam Ward?

      I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.

      Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
