What happened to him?

I know he had a couple rough weeks and agree with is benching, but is there no place on the field for him currently?

Moving forward, would a transition to safety make sense. He lacks speed but seems to be instinctive and is a solid tackler.

Yeah, just saw that.

Some good points. I just didn't see enough bad to warrant a benching. Even in poor play, I think he's outplayed Thomas.

However, we are winning games since the move so what do I know

I have yet to see Thomas play soft, he covers his players a hell of a lot better than Norman. Norman plays off of every single WR he faces by about 7-10 yards and has given up to many big plays to warrant not being benched long ago. Thomas, Captian and Campbell has out played him and deserve to play over Norman.

Ohh my damn. Josh Thomas has played outstanding, not outstanding for a scrap heap scrub, just outstanding.

The old doghouse theory just does't hold water most of the time. Players are graded on every play every week in games and in practice. If a guy isn't playing it is because he is not grading out the best at hat position, plain and simple. Norman was playing ff his man and making mistakes. Since he was benched the secondary has improved. Frankly the guys who have come in are hungry and aggressive. They deserve to play over Norman.

    • I've been iffy on Canales till now but this season has put me in his corner. He certainly still has areas that need improvement, but I do believe he can be "the guy". Admittedly, what I had hoped for was a chance to see Canales with a different quarterback. That particular scenario now looks to be, at the very least, a few seasons away. Gotta say also that we'd be remiss to have an offseason discussion and not reference Dan Morgan and the front office. What I see from there (especially since the addition of Brandt Tilis) is starting to look pretty positive. Here's hoping...
    • He is certainly durable for his size I'll give him that. Whether or not he'll actually carve out a Doug Flutie kind of career remains to be seen. He has the benefit of playing in an era of the league that many former QB's would envy let's be honest. I think it really comes down to his desire to continue to overcome adversity and work on his craft. Whatever happens to conclude this season he will certainly be here next year and my hope is that he enters the upcoming offseason highly motivated to build on any progress he's made. The last thing we need is a repeat of the last 3 offseasons.
    • Yeah, don't ser how I missed that. Sorry, @Mr. Scot
