Will we have the balls to cut Rivera midseason in 2013?

I say it's worth hanging onto him at this point mainly b/c the players support him and believe in him. Chud still needs to go this year, and i say bring in Norv. Norv can fully focus on offense, and can coach the QB position. Rivera and McDouchebag can focus on the D and making it a top 10 D. However, if we faulter out of the gate to say 1-5, he needs to be canned immediately to try and salvage the year. As a fan we've been down this road too many times to generate hype for the next year only to come out and lose to the Bills on opening weekend.

JR isn't going to fire anyone midseason. We need to hope he has the balls to fire him after this year. 7-9 gets it done around here after a previous 6-10 season? I really hope not. It's different to be between 7-9 and 9-7 when you are battling all season for a playoff spot. We were essentially eliminated from the playoffs after 10 games this year...

It begs the question that all sane Panther fans are asking themselves...Why expect anything different after two years of essentially the exact same season (suck at the beginning...turn it on for meaningless games at the end)? My answer is that there will be no difference. None. At. All.

All that JR needs to realize that Ron Rivera is in over his head. He is not a head coach. PERIOD.

You sure about that?

It took JR how many years to get rid of that clown?

Maybe I'm being too optimistic (especially considering our owner) but I really hope he doesn't think that a bunch of worthless wins over the Eagles, Raiders, Chargers, and Saints are worth keeping a coach. We beat two teams this year who are going to the playoffs. Maybe if his piss-poor coaching didn't crap away wins against the Bears, Bucs (TWICE), and Chiefs we'd be fighting for a wild card spot at 9-6 instead of winning meaningless games that are only costing us draft position.

So...really hoping that JR sees through this BS that is happening at this point in the season when it is too late.

6-10, 7-9, 8-8?

anything less than stellar preformance by rivera in the first 25% of the season, at least 2-2 and that is all the time I would give him. I think JR will give him more like half or more of the season.

But at that point, if that happens its another season of Cam's & every other young player wasted in effect. Lets not let it get to that point

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
