You guys ready for another 2-8 start?

hey, but come december our guys will light it up and save their coaches job and be home for christmas! whoo hoo! as long as the players are happy with their coach that's all that matters, right? screw playoffs. feeling comfortable is what it's all about.

that's rivera's legacy thus far. underachieving until it's too late. it's up to him and that team of his to change it.

If a GM is only willing to enter a situation with no coach, then they're limiting themselves to the Cardinals or Chargers. Rivera isn't going to effect the GM search much at all.

only if they're able to move on from rivera if he fails again...which is all he's pretty much done so far.

We turned the cream of the crop away by forcing a coach on any incoming GM. At that point, you're picking between a guy you know and a bunch of other second-tier guys not in consideration elsewhere. Add to that the fact that we're just starting our interview process next week after other teams are already on their second and third interviews. Richardson knows him and he's not going to get uppity with JR as he continues his bad decision making.

Beane is a very real possibility at this point. Right up our alley.

I doubt we're turning anyone away with this decision since it looks like all the other GM jobs are about to be filled.

Gettleman is only talking to us. Ross doesn't seem to be the leading candidate anywhere.

U losers talking about jumping ship - do us a favor and find another team to pull for ASAP.

Go root for the steelers or cowboys like the rest of the trashy/ghetto people do

Do me a favor and suck it, you don't control how I root for teams or not.

One thing to consider is maybe Beane & Rivera will share the responsibilities.

Beane handles the cap, business operations, etc

Rivera handles the football players and football decisions.

Might work.

They gotta get better scouting though or it won't matter.

i can't honestly believe so many just accept or even defend a losing status quo.

"if you don't love our losing team, go find some other team"

meh....

    • Malcom Spence is the best player remaining, hope he’s there.
    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
