Talib?

I know this has been discussed before, but didn't see this link. It seems like all of Pat Y's articles are gloom and doom about the Panthers cap situation, but now he's advocating signing Talib. Is he bipolar?

Discuss.

He's a good corner, but he's got some really troubling off the field stuff. Unless you can get him at a contract you can walk away from at any point, which is unlikely, I wouldn't mess with him.

NFL contracts aren't guaranteed. We can walk away at a most any point. The key is getting money up front vs in yearly (non guaranteed) salary.

Yeah, that's what I was saying I imagine that he will be in fairly high demand this offseason meaning that if we want him, it'll involve a good amount of guaranteed money. Unless he can be gotten on what amounts to a year to year proposition, I don't really want him.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
