i don't know....if we pick up a WR in the draft, that leaves us with at least smitty, lafell, draft pick, ginn, hixon...that's 5. how many do we go into the season with? won't be more than 6. would bryant beat out any of those 5 guys? doubtful. how about the rest of the guys....gettis, adams, pilares, AE(ok, that last one...probably). it's hard to think that bryant could beat out all those guys. esp. adams since he's just going into his second season.

and then we'll probably pick up another WR as a UDFA. i mean then which "future victor cruz" do you pick? the udfa from last year or the one that gettleman picks this year?

I agree with the first 5. I see it more of a 3 way battle with Gettis, Adams, and Bryant for that final spot. If I am correct, this could be an interesting battle. Gettis hasn't played in two years, and can't see the field. Adams has the dropsies. And Bryant is inexperienced. All have potential, and all have something to prove............If they want a big guy to stretch the field, it is between Gettis and Bryant. If they want to give Adams a second chance, I can see that one as well. Like I said. This could get interesting.

If we could get a Bryant or Gettis successful reclamination we could luck out this season.

If we draft a saftey n cb with our first two pick id be just as happy with he draft as a major success upgrading the secondary.

We need n upgrade at wr , n I think the WRs(no need to name them) would upgrade our roster. Our secondary is just embarrasingly void of real talent.

Xavier Rhodes n Jonathan Banks would be welcome additions along with 4-6 of any top saftey.

Hopefully Bryant gets a chance to show what he can do. He may be a practice squad guy but there is a reason he is still on the team, he is talented enough to continue to develop. There were a number of guys on the practice squad last year that were promoted to the active squad due to injury and actually performed well. So before writing him off lets see what he can do. Every year someone comes in and surprises everyone. Maybe this is his time. Then again maybe not........

I remember him in training camp last year when i was there and he made a few wow plays that made me look up who he was. The kid is a freak athlete. He is bigger faster and stronger than many wideouts. If he can put together the mental part, he could be a gem.

    • If we lose tomorrow we’d have to sweep the Bucs in order to get into the playoffs. With a loss tomorrow the Bucs would then hold the tie breaker if we finished tied If we can’t split with NO then we sure as hell not sweeping Tampa It’s win or go home tomorrow in my eyes  Biggest game since 2017 playoff game imo
    • Grok AI: No, there are no credible reports that the Carolina Hurricanes offered Jake Guentzel the same contract terms as Tampa Bay (7 years, $63 million total, $9 million AAV) before he signed with the Lightning. Reliable sources, including The Athletic, consistently reported that Carolina’s offer during negotiations was an eight-year deal worth $64 million ($8 million AAV). Guentzel did not accept it promptly, leading the Hurricanes to trade his negotiating rights to Tampa Bay on June 30, 2024, for a 2025 third-round pick. He then quickly signed the 7x$9M deal with the Lightning on July 1, 2024. Guentzel himself later reflected (in 2025 interviews) that staying in Carolina was his initial preference, but negotiations stalled and “didn’t work out,” with Tampa’s opportunity becoming a “no-brainer.” No reports from outlets like ESPN, NHL.com, or insiders (e.g., Elliotte Friedman, Pierre LeBrun, Frank Seravalli) indicate Carolina ever matched or offered the Lightning’s exact terms—total money, AAV, or length. The extra year was Carolina’s key advantage, but they reportedly stuck closer to $8M AAV and moved on when Guentzel explored options.
