More Interesting Than Carolina's Draft...

There are several stories coming from the draft far more interesting than Carolina's picks....

Manti Te'o going #6 in the second round (38th overall) to San Diego. Apparently his draft stopk didn't drop too much considering his disappearance in the National Championship game. NFLN analysts called him an astute student and said he could read defenses at an NFL level.

Interesting comments considering the guy couldn't tell the difference between a male and female voice. He can read zone, run and pass plays but is easily fooled into falling in love with someone he never met? We're supposed to believe that? Regardless- this is an obvious ploy by the Chargers attempting to resurrect the next Junior Seau, regain some of its fan base and allow Te'o to play closer to home so Mommy and Daddy can take care of him.

The trainwreck that is the New York Jets drafting QB Geno Smith. David Garrard was signed about 6 weeks ago to a 1-year, $1.1M contract and "promised a chance to start," according to him. A year ago Mark Sanchez signed a 5-year, $58.25M contract with $20.5 guaranteed and he scheduled to make $8.25M this season. And let's not forget that guy The Golden Calf of Bristol, who is also under contract to the Jets and is scheduled to make a little over $2M this season.

One of the worst offenses in the league last year promises to get Sanchez more weapons to help him out after giving him the huge contract extension and what do they do? 2 picks in the top 13 and they take a CB and a DT, followed by the Geno Smith selection.

The Dallas Cowboys use their first round pick on a third round prospect, a center no less. As much as we hate Jerry Jones, I'm sure loving him as the General Manager for the last 20 years. Not only can he not spot NFL talent and has no clue how, who or what to draft and his ego is way too fugging huge to hire a real GM, as long as he's the guy calling the shots in Dallas.... 1 playoff win in the last 18 seasons.... 'nuff said.

Perfect.

I despise the Dallas Cowboys. But I do have a couple friends that say they pull for them. It's starting to get embarrassing. They have that same look as a woman who gets beaten at home. "Oh, it's ok... I deserved it." Jerry Jones is a disgrace to football. It's an absolute shame that this massive pile of poo gets to live out most of our dreams everyday and find new and creative ways to completely suck at it.

If I see one more dumb blonde standing on the beach in Hawaii talking about Teo, I will throw something through my TV.

Hope the morons at ESPN and NFLN, understand that most guys watching the draft at this point are hardcore football fans. If they want the Teo crap, they will tune into TMZ.

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
