Does Rivera seem happier?

Seriously doubt you can find the prior Draft press conferences online anymore, but just from what you can remember about the two prior years compared to today, did Ron Rivera seem happier sitting next to Dave Gettleman talking about the picks they made than he did with Marty Hurney?

I felt like he was a few things I hadn't seen  him be.  I would call one of them happy, sure.  I also think he was a little more confident and certainly a little more content.  It's not like I see a lot of them together but from hearing Rivera and Gettleman speak I get the distinct impressing Rivera is more comfortable with Gettleman than he ever was with Hurney as well.

Maybe I'm just reading too much into things to make myself feel better though.

Ron seems about the same to me..

Maybe we are just use "in season Ron", the guy who almost wins each week, and is out of the hunt by week 10. In season Ron deals with almost weekly disappointment until the games haven't mattered. I have always thought he was very positive heading in

if you were a coach and had two losing seasons in a row in your first two years of coaching and still managed to not get fired you'd be happy as well.

Uhhhh aren't most coaches taking over bottom feeder teams given 3-4 years?  I mean the expectations for Rivera are quite higher than most new coaches simply because he drafted Cam Newton.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
