same ol smitty from what i've seen from reports out of TC. nothing to worry about unless you just want something to worry about. take no news as good news.

Just have not heard much.  Tons about Ginn, LaFell, and the others, just not much news on SS.

A mature Cam does not some how make Nakamura not suck ass and blow the game in ATL, nor does it stop the refs from cheating us out of the Dallas game or Smitty from slipping against Chicago.

But the fact that we have been lack luster the past 2 years does mean it's time for Cam and the team to get down to business.

Maybe not, but a more mature captain of the offense could put us in a position where we're up by enough that those mistakes don't cost us the game.

Don't do that! Please, for the love of all that's good in the world, don't do that.

I was going more for the we may have finally gotten the Dan Morgan we expected to get with the first one. Minus the injuries of course. I think Luke is already better than Dan but Dan was a monster when healthy.

Can not agree more with the comparison. Dan Morgan was an absolute STUD!!! when healthy. Not sure if Keek is already better than him yet.

Honestly I have thought the same thing many times, but too afraid to say it outloud - even to myself.

I give Luke the nod already because he has already played a 16 game schedule and hasn't missed a beat. That right there makes him better. Dan had all the talent in the world his body just couldn't handle it.

Great OP, Zod.

Really, really like the format of these threads. It's like a picture book for semi-adults, except without the gratuitous porn added in.

Seriously though, seeing the pics to go along with the narrative helps to get a sense of what it's like to be there. Thanks very much.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
