There are going to be uncertainties with the offensive line this year, but with Hangartner’s versatility and veteran presence, he’s sure to play a key role again.

Just a friendly reminder to take what these nuckle heads say with a grain of salt.

It's easy to trash them now but what they said was right on.  That is why cutting hangman was such a surprise.  Of course the Huddle is going to act like they all saw it coming and the Observer is full of nothing but morons.

Well, you didn't see many people here praising the right side of the O-Line. In fact, most saw it as a huge concern.

There is some surprise at the timing, but no fan of the Panthers should be surprised he got cut.

And even more ludicrous is the idea that he was a key cog on our line.

no, what makes it a surprise is the timing. it's not the time that cuts are typically made and we haven't seen who getts is planning to bring in. most saw him as a  weak link as a starter, but an ok backup....which is the story of his career., but that was less accurate of an observation as time has gone on because he's really marginal as a backup now.

most understood that he would be replaced at some point and saw the drafting of kugbila, who is better built for the RG job, esp. for a team that wants to run a lot, as the first step in replacing piggie.

hangartner is a likeable guy, but he was holding back progress of the OL. the only real question now is who getts has in mind to replace him for the short term. kug is the answer long term, at least that is the hope, but for this year.....i dunno.

Although the Panthers drafted Edmund Kugbila and have looked at some veterans, Geoff Hangartner still appears to be the front-runner for the starting job at right guard. Kugbila has been dealing with injuries and it seems unlikely he’ll be able to beat out Hangartner anytime soon.

You can't trash the Observer and not trash Pat Y who also published this excerpt this morning.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
