Could Gettis challenge Lafell?

He looks just as explosive if not moreso than his rookie season, catching everything in sight. Has prototypical NFL size and speed oh and hes already proven he can do all this in the regular season with St Pierre under center.

Before you think this is far fetched, lets not forget he was a lock for the number 2 spot pre injury. Thoughts?

No. I love him and he brings a great skillset but LaFell is entrenched at #2 and deserves it.

I like the fact he's stepping up again for the second straight game, I hate to say this but I think hixon may have cost himself a roster spot not being able to practice or play in these preseason games.

Give it some time brother. Gettin hasnt shown that he's better than Lafell at all. Remember he's playing 2/3s. Still has a way to go. He is however looking like a viable #3.

I really want the three receivers used interchangeably. This who bears who is nonsense because good offenses move guys around to get them open. If Lafell can be the true possession receiver he is and we can move Smitty in the slot ill be happy. Use their abilities to exploit the defense, nothing more, nothing less.

No. LaFell has earned that #2 spot. Gettis is perfect for the slot imo. Put him outside when Smitty has his slot plays.  But yea I've seen absolutely nothing that suggests that he isn't back to 2010 form.  In fact we never did see why he was in the doghouse to begin with.  Outside of injuries, he's been a very good player when we've seen him on the field.

 

Gun to my head--- Smitty/LaFell/Gettis/Edwards/Ginn ...the rest depends on if they want to keep 6 or not.
