4th Preseason Game....

Honestly think I'm more interested in the results (cuts) of the rest of the league's 4th game than I am about ours...  We don't seem to have many surprises hidden on the roster this year, and no real bench battles that are notable to me...  I'm anxious to see who stays and who goes in our WR corps...  Can we carry them all?

There will be battles to get a roster spot, but, I would rather be able to see battles of who might start on the OLine. The talent level is that of guys just barely hanging on above the cut line however.

Not much else to see except maybe a special team guy or two. Half dozen guys have never seen the practice field much less a preseason game, so not sure what we will do with them.

Next week will start to clear up some with the first round of cuts/signings and the 4th game MIGHT be to acclimate some of the new guys to our system, fingers crossed

ESPN and others make it seem like this week is a dating reality show where we must go from 85 players down to 53 with all these spots up for grabs and everyone fighting to hold their ground. In all actuallity, only 4-5 spots max are open. Not interested. Like others have said. It's the other team's cuts that matter most to us

If we lose do we suck? I want to see Shula really open up the play book this week to hopefully show he's not that inept at play calling.

If he is holding his cards, it would be idiotic to show them in the 4th preseason game and give the Seahawks a heads up

I want to see Clausen play an extended period of time. See some more of Barner. Watch the scrubbies play.

Honestly if there were just a bunch of trained possums playing, if they are wearing the Panthers uniform I am going to watch em.

Really sucks as a fan (especially a psl owner) to have the 1st and 4th preseason games be the home ones.

The 4th game is going to suck since we will only see the starters for 1-2 drives max if at all.

There are some decisions that can be influenced by this game but its just mainly going to be the bottom feeders/ practice squad candidates having 1 last chance to earn a spot.

    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
