Preseason Panic In Pantherland.

after 3 horrific offensive performances in a row whats not to panic about, honestly I've dropped my expectations of this team from a worse case 9-7 to me thinking we will be doing good to make 7-9.

Our offense has consistently played that bad.

but at the same time our defense is looking like the monster I thought they would turn into, #monsters inc

Offense was consistantly bad in the 2011 and 2012 preseasons.....

Those are also the two greatest offensive production seasons in franchise history. All comes down to the OL. If they can be some what not crappy....we will be okay

An entire article that is written about what people should not think.  If the preseason is nothing, why play 4 games?

By that measure, "why practice"?

Cause, that's all Pre Season is: It's a Glorified practice, and evaluation period for coaches.

They play the games in public, to whet the fans appetites, as they're doing here.

They play preseason games because its another 2 games worth of revenue streams coming to the organizations.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
    • Sauls getting cut by Steelers if no trade happens.
    • No they are going to give Claudin Cherelus 2 spots.
