Well, considering the fact that we should be* undefeated like the Chiefs and Broncos... I'd like to say that we are under rated... But as the HOF coach Bill Parcells says "You are what your record says you are" I'm gonna say that we're not under rated.

Do we have the talent to have a better record? Absolutely!

Do we live up to what we should be? Up to this point no.

We are what our record says we are, no matter how much better we think* this team is.

Hell, we haven't been above .500 in years... Let's get to .500 first and then we'll talk

That's really a tough question to answer objectively.

 

I watch as many NFL games as I can, regardless of who's playing with the Panthers taking priority obviously.

 

But even doing that I don't know any team like I know the panthers, it would really have to be a full time job to say who's the best, underrated or any doing any other kind ranking. 

 

But back to the subject at hand. I think we have enough talent to be a playoff team and can make some noise if we get in. Our biggest problem has been Rivera. That's not to say we are on the level of Denver, New Orleans, NE, K.C or Seattle because were def. not but we aren't too terribly far behind on paper.

our overall performance is undershadowed by obscenely awful situational football that has us 2-3 instead of 4-1. i'd say so, yes.

 

I agree with the bolded.  However the bolded has been the norm for 3 years now.  So with that being the norm, I can't say we are underrated since we consistently choke.

      Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.

      Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
