Mike Mitchell has changed the culture on our defense.

Resign the man, i though for sure a game like this he would get flagged numerous times but man he kept his cool and got into the heads of there wideouts.......He ran from the altercation after the bradford hit, and when Brian quik slapped his helmet he just looked at him with a "is that all you got" look.

I've been brewing on this over the last two weeks... And to think 99.9% of us were dreading him getting any serious PT after all the personal fouls he was racking up in the preseason.

He definitely tiptoes that line, but he has learned how to play within the boundaries of the legalities of the game, and in doing so, he has set the tone for our entire defense, and perhaps team as a whole. He just makes plays... And he makes each and every opposing offensive player think twice before coming anywhere near him. He changes the game with his mere presence, and that is exactly what we have needed for a long while now.

So proud of him and all of our players... Mitchell is a baller.

I'll give the coaching staff some credit for getting his act cleaned up. For instance I was suprised to see him show such discipline today after being provoked, I didn't see this in him initially. Pretty sure Ron had a sit down with him and told him get his ish straight. He is really making the most of his opportunity. Add in the fact we are way down in penalties this year shows improvement.

You don't know what you're talking about.. Mitchell is a PHYSICAL player, not an indiscipline player. Pretty sure Ron didn't sit down and told him to get his $HIT straight.

I think he brings some swagger to this defense.

He could have unloaded on Bradford and probably received a unsportsmanlike penalty but was smart with only a light nudge.  He has 3 ints and along with his toughness he seems to have the defensive backfield playing smartly.

I like that he is still fairly young and hopefully he stays around for a while.

i knew what we were getting when we got him, and i was so excited to have it. i love players like him that are tenacious. he's like the kraken of the secondary.

Except Mike Mitchell plays hard every game, not every other game.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
