Something I noticed about the toughest two game stretch on the schedule

Not trying to look ahead too much, but I was looking at the schedule and BOTH the 49ers and Patriots will be coming off their bye week when they play the Panthers.  So in consecutive weeks, the Panthers will have to play the past two Superbowl runner-ups, well rested and with an extra week to game plan against Cam Newton and the Panthers.  If that's not the toughest two game stretch the Panthers have played in recent memory, I don't know what is.

 

If the Panthers win both of those games, they are legit Superbowl contenders.  I'm just hoping they can just win one of them to keep pace in the NFC.

Alot of teams have laid eggs after their bye week. The Panthers did it against the Cardinals, The Vikings were coming off a bye week when playing us. Also the Dolphins laid an egg against Buffalo this past week after coming off an bye.

 

Since 2003, the Patriots have only lost once after their bye week (2011 vs the Steelers).  And the Steelers weren't exactly slouches that year.  Tom Brady+Bill Belichick are VERY good after their bye week.

 

Jim Harbaugh's 49ers are 1-0-1 in games after their bye week.  No real tellings stats there.

They couldn't beat the rams coming off a bye, that's pretty telling.

Neither of those teams are as great as they have been in recent years IMHO, and both can be beaten. Shula needs to keep doing what he's been doing and morph his gameplan around what the defense gives, not around what he thinks we should get. And I'll put our D up against any offense in the league right now and feel like we have at least a punchers chance.

      I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying

      I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.

      Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
