Boo's First Away Game/First Time to California Adventure

CA is an awesome state - at least weather wise. Moved from Charlotte to Bay Area 10 yrs ago for job reasons. SF politics rule the land - including more conservative places but you have to live by their rules or move out.

It was great to see my Panthers come in here and beat the 49ers around!

They have a lot of hispanic gangster looking fans? We were talking to a cop at one point and they told us that there was known gangs tailgating in the parking lot....

Sounds like you got a proper introduction to California. You need to take a trip to socal though next time we play the chargers.

I was going to do one of these, but I'll tack on to yours. We got to the stadium and had to grab some food. We refused to drink out of 49er cups. The guy laughed at us, then we got Coca-Cola cups from another vendor. BofA is under appreciated. I kept looking for replays and the big screen was blurry, and the other one was tiny. Went to take a bathroom break and the outside TVs were delayed 15 seconds. You would hear a roar of cheers and see it later on the outside. The fans outside would then cheer.

There was an awesome fan in our section that was shirtless with a full body paint job and wig. He was told to sit down during the game by security. He was later kicked out because he kept standing up. The fans booed. Sound familiar? The lady next to me asked if we were Jaguar fans and I saw three different people wearing Jaguar uniforms. I'm pretty sure they didn't know the difference. I think they know now.

As far as opposing fans...we were heckled by big goons in front of us. Looking for high fives when the 49ers scored. When DWill scored, we went nuts, one guy turned around and said scoreboard. I looked at him and laughed. Other fans heckled during consession or bathroom breaks. The only one that I wasn't messing with was the little Latino guy with a tear drop under his eye. He said 'You are welcome here, but don't get too comfortable.' I felt the Latino presence as Boo mentioned.

After the game, saw the 'After Game Coverage' on TV. The whole time they had our old logo representing us.

Overall, great trip. Got engaged, my fiancé surprised me with a new Kuechly jersey, and we won! An awesome experience!

Ooooh, the "Latino presence".

Ya'll are cracking me up.

There are more Latinos here in California than there are Caucasians or African Americans.

I love the references of the Latino fans, because the sheer volume of Mexican gangbangers that go to 49ers games is fuging staggering. It's really no joke, and is why I constantly tell y'all keep your head on a swivel while you are there.

Great write up Boo. Glad you had a fun (and safe) trip.

    • I have no idea why you are so irrationally upset about the notion that going out and spending $150 million free agency dollars on two interior offensive linemen could be construed as a panic response after our #1 pick we traded a fortune for had one of the worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years. It is objectively what transpired. Dan Morgan as of right now is a mixed bag. Some really good some so so some not so good some bad some really bad. You take any rational criticism personally like you are related to him or something. That's something you'll have to figure out for yourself. Anyways. The predicament Dan Morgan finds himself in for this year will define his future as GM. I sincerely hope he navigates it to perfection. But the circumstances are largely of his own creation. And not just in his stint as GM but going back to his time as assistant GM. Which conveniently people like yourself don't like to talk about. That is the reality of the situation. I like how you will carry water for Dan Morgan to the point of getting into random spats with people but make no mention of Bryce Young's glaring limitations and shortcomings as a starting QB yet go out of your way to put the onus of our struggles squarely on Canales. I mean I've been quite critical of Canales too but he sure isn't the only one to blame for our problems.
    • They weren't well thought out. We needed one, not both. 2 top center/guard candidates were going to be available in the 2nd. We would have been fine with JPJ or Frazier. Drafting either over XL or Brooks would have made perfect sense. Hell, drafting both would have made sense even if we had signed Lewis or Hunt. Instead we drafted a 1 year wonder project WR and a luxury RB that we didn't need since we had Hubbard. Draft IOL, pay tackles. Plenty of 2nd round guards and centers start immediately and play very well. Those 2 picks were not good then, now, no matter how much explaining anyone tries to do. Several of called it then.
    • I have no problems with difference of opinions.  Difference of perspective.  Perspective is everything.   The statement you made was false. Period. So sorry that you don't like me calling it out.  Frankly, Frank,  I gave up on seeing anything eye to eye with you when I was a much younger man.  Nothing I said was a personal insult, so get over yourself.  As far as comparing rosters.  I just dont give a fug.  There are no 2 rosters in this league that are built the same as far talent and contracts. Every team is on their own journey.  Is our passing offense far from desired? Yes, we can agree on that part, but not on why it has struggled.  I wish we could easily just drsft all the talent we need, the the NFL doesn't,  and hasn't worked that way.  Dan Morgan did a fantastic job at bringing in talent along the line, and retaining talent along the line. We needed it also, as we used every bit of the depth we had, most of the season.  Unfortunately we were relying on a receivers room that their average age is less than my oldest son, and that is NEVER a recipe for success for the group.  The constant shuffle at online was horrible. Despite how horrible it was, our online actually performed well above expectations for what they went through.  We also need our play caller to attempt to stick to an offensive identity.   Unfortunately,  Dave C. didn't do that, for whatever reason.  Hell, the online was the highlight of our offense this season. Wished the rest of the offense performed as consistent.  He'll, wish our defense performed that consistent.  I'll give you credit, for not dropping to your expected behavior in your response.  Congratulations.  Have a goodnight.
