Then suddenly it occurred to me..I wouldn't take anybody over Cam Newton.

Awesomeness!!

Walking to Starbucks this morning, checking highlights on my phone, and I think they were showing highlights of RW and Peyton Manning or something. I thought to myself "Cam could do that. Cam Newton gets no credit for what he does inside the pocket when giving time, and he is heads and shoulders better than any of the "Young QBs" in the league. When you look at a guy like Peyton, or Brady, they are basically statues behind their line and if they ever had to play with trash on the o-line I honestly believe they would have gone the way of Blaine Gabbert and Christan Ponder. 2 years ago I would have traded Cam for Aaron Rogers. Now? Wouldn't even consider it.

    • Yeah it was like watching two bottom teams slap fight and play ugly small ball in the preseason to me. hard pass on that personally.
    • I'm looking for the video but I found this from SI (from 3 days ago) in the meantime. "If you remove the turnovers, which is a pointless exercise since they happened, Bryce Young has been quietly very good. Sometimes, you can live with the turnovers, but the explosive plays to offset them haven't been there, and the turnovers have directly led to points and losses. But Jake Delhomme thinks that's the one area that needs to be cleaned up. Otherwise, Young has been strong. "We saw Bryce end the year well. I saw him play decent the first few weeks (this season). It’s just the turnovers, that’s something that’s killed him," he said via The Athletic's Joe Person."
    • IMO, Bryce is pretty damned good as long as he's not under pressure, which he wasn't yesterday. If the opponent is able to pressure him, well...
