Along the Sidelines - Division Champs Edition

Greetings from Bank of America South, formerly known as the Georgia Dome.

Today Panthers fans took over Atlanta in convincing fashion. I have never seen an away game with so much blue.

The day for them started a little shaky however.

Cam struggled early, mainly due to awful play by Byron Bell.

Bell was promptly sat down with in-game photos to study. It seems to have helped.

Cam was able to bounce back with his arm....

..and his legs.

As usual, it took a spark from the defense to get things moving. Melvin White's pick 6 was a thing of beauty.

The rest of the defense followed suit by harassing Matt Ryan for most of the game.

I'm not sure if you have noticed, but Short is developing in to one of the better under tackles the Panthers have had.

Frank Alexander made an appearence which was good to see. With Hardy unlikely to resign with Carolina, we will need a few strong DE prospects.

Once the defense took control, the rest of the offense came alive as well.

I love Thomas Davis. That guy nearly lifted Jackson off his feet multiple times in an attempt to strip the ball.

Speaking of Jackson, people forget how big he is. Our DB's were wise to go for his feet.

One player I think that is under appreciated is Greg Olsen. All he does is make completion after completion and the occasional touchdown. He is, by far, our best receiving threat with Steve Smith out. I wish I saw Olsen jerseys on gamedays.

Williams and Tolbert combined for a legitimate running attack. I am sure if the Panthers lost I would be making a big deal about the Deangelo fumble.. but its hard to complain when you have a first round bye.

One funny side note. After Tolbert rumbled over several Falcons I witnessed one linebacker get on the case of another. His reply was something to the effect of "Well you tackle him then" lol. Poor fellas.

At the end of the day, Bank of America South said goodbye to one legend....

and hello to a new one.

In the locker room Mike Tolbert led the team in song. "Kings of the South" was playing on repeat.

So here the Panthers are, the number two seed and enjoying a playoff week 1 bye. A week of rest will do tremendous things for this team.

They will be ready. They will be waiting.

Can you hear us now?

Hardy unlikely to resign??

We have Cam and Luke contracts coming up along with one highly payed DE and a couple other young very promising ones.

We won't be paying Hardy his market worth.

Gettleman is not Hurney.

I think letting Greg walk would be an epically bad decision. At this point he's our best D lineman

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
