McDermott to interview for Redskins HC this weekend...

Seattle's DC....said he appreciated the interest teams have had in him but would hold off on anything until AFTER the Seattle's season was over. Then he would entertain them.

I would have liked that response from McD.

Bc an interview of that magnitude certainly takes attention away from the task at hand.

Everyone is different. But that would actually be a plus for the Seahawk guy if I was interested in talking to both. Id like that about him. As for Rivera, isn't that what he claims always hurt him......he always claimed he was coaching and not interviewing in the postseason

I just don't like it because what if the interview goes well, and they feel confident during the course of the interview that he is their man, and he's got the Skins job locked up as soon as the Panthers' season ends.

How many people honestly give their 100% effort after they give their two weeks notice?

"I have a chance to win a SB trophy, my lifelong dream and something my mentor died still wanting more than than anything in the world? Pffft screw that noise, I have a head coaching job. I'm gonna take 3 hour lunches and play Candy Crush all day!"

I agree and it seems to me like a slap in the face to the fans. Looks like he is going to try to ride one good year to a HC job like CHUD.

If the giants wanted to interview Hardy for a head coaching job I'm sure that would be fine.

But if they wanted to interview him as a player (lateral move) they couldn't, just like SM couldnt interview for a different coordinator job (also lateral move ).

It's just bs. A job is a job. Can Greg Hardy go talk to the giants about becoming their starting DT? No he has to focus on the team he's currently on. If a team wants a coach that bad trust me they'll wait.

I don't blame him from taking the interview, i blame the classless Redskins. The Texans said they would wait until after the playoffs to interview folks still in the playoffs. O well....have a little bit of success and the vultures start circling, that's the nature of the NFL i suppose.

Call it what you want, at least the Hawks coaches will not interview until the season is done.We need all hands on deck and not resumes and powerpoint presentations for HC gigs being prepared.

Check again..... their having meetings with them. YYYeahhhhhhh nice job there.

You don't understand why he would interview for a position that is pretty much the dream of every asst coach? Wow.

I wonder how many of the people bitching about this are under the age of 21 and have likely never interviewed for a great opportunity and job...and no, putting in an application at the local fast food restaurant does not count.

Can't believe the amount of over reaction and ignorance in this thread.

I completely understand what you're saying in terms of his career opportunities, but the fuging season isn't even over yet.... players can't talk to other teams til a given date, coaches should be helfd to the same standard. Youve probably never played a down of football in your life so I wouldn't expect you to understand, but that poo will be in the D's head, obviously not a huge factor at all, but this poo shouldn't happen during the 2013 season, poo needs to wait til off season for all 32 teams

Most teams with a bye are taking a couple days off most likely to lick their wounds and such.  While the rest are bringing in the new year, or whatever, McD will be pissing away his time off in DC.  Don't think it a biggie.

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
