With starters I agree, but we don't need a left tackle to come in and start year one.. I hope. I would imagine the great starting left tackles will be gone by the 28th pick, which is why I would like to draft the heir apparent.

Sub 6' slowing down mid-thirties Steve Smith is our #1 and the only receiver of note on roster. The extra 1 to 1.5 seconds of protection a new RT would afford isn't going to matter if Cam is still waiting for Terrance McJourneyman to finally come out of his route while David Blockswell stands around watching Newton scramble.

 

BPA for sure. If a can't miss, was-top-ten-once tackle prospect is there at 28, grab him. If talent is comparable, WR all day long. Grab a decent T via FA.

I really don't think you people understand that the top tier wr will be gone by our 2nd pick. Our only chance is the 1 st round. And don't give me that kennan Allen bs. He wasprojected to go in the first for forever and a day. His injuries were the only thing that caused him to fall

While you do lose #1 WR prospects after the top 5-6 receivers there are tons of #2 WR prospects in the 7-15 group. By prospect I mean within about 3 years to reach that point. My point is we need some immediate help through FA in this area and depending on what happens there we could be fine going WR in round 2 or 3.

Our run game is terrible in my opinion. Take away Cam's runs and it will deteriorate terribly. Cam cannot sustain those runs, we risk losing him at the expense of boosting up our run game. Make DWill actually work for his money. All for a beefed up line.

Cam newtons scrambles don't count as part of that "rushing attack".
