Interview with Ron Rivera on NFL AM

By paying hardy stupid money that were already paying CJ he doesn't need to write it in the sand, it's pretty obvious it doesn't leave money to help other areas of need, keeping hardy is a luxury in my opinion especially when our offense is so talentless ad empty

I have full confidence DG wont overpay.  He was given a bad hand already, acknowledged it and I think that right there makes him aware of what overpaying two guys at the same spot can do.  At least paying 2 DE's good money still allows them on the field at the same time, while we never once ran a formation where D'Will and Stewart were both on the field at the same time.  i also won't take it to the extreme, DG seems like a middle ground type of guy.  if they don't realize we need some weapons on offense, then we are screwed anyway

That's because people want to see what they want to see. Damn the reality!

They want to see what they want to see?  Cant argue with that..

Don't make it sound like the idea is far fetched..

There is plenty of logic behind the idea that we will try to resign him.

Actually people see what is there and create their reality to be what they want it to be.  Otherwise how do people see or hear the exact same thing and come out with completely different accounts of what happened.

So the offense suffers again so we can overpay two DEs!

Yeah we only suffered with a 12-4 record, division championship, and generally being regarded as the 3rd best team in the league.  I can suffer with that.

BTW the only reason the offense suffered was because of the over payed rbs on offense....not defense.

Chasing "weapons" and ignoring the trenches is how teams like the Falcons are built.

We all saw what our d-line did for our defense and what our defense did for our W/L record.

I wouldn't mind paying hardy, drafting OLs and CBs and seeing what we have in King and McNutt this year and addressing WR in 2015.

Yeh and we prob reach a Super Bowl with more weapons on offense rather than stutter all season offensively relying heavily on a defence to win us games! You need a blend of two, putting up 10 points won't win games, lafell hixon and ginn need upgrading whether you want to admit it or not! We have an elite qb playing with fodder, there isn't a reason you can't have both a good defence and upgrade the offense wholeheartedly this offseason, you make one sacrifice Greg hardy but some people won't swallow that.

I totally agree that our offense lost us the game in the playoffs.  We need to get better there.  But there is a chance we might not find the long term solution to this problem during this offseason.  Remember, sustained success is what he is going after, and retaining your core and building through the draft is how to avoid going up and down, like most of the teams around the league.

Like others have said, you are looking at what lost us the playoff game, and ignoring what got us there..  Let's build on the pieces that got us there, instead of trying to fix everything in one offseason.

"Big men allow you to compete"

"Keep your strengths strong"

If we do keep hardy, at least we're getting a versatile leader. I like how he was pulling guys in on the sidelines and being that guy to say the things that needed to be said. TD and smitty won't be here forever and we have to have that next generation of outspoken leadership. Hopefully we can really hit on some playmakers in the draft that can contribute on the cheap for a while.
