Zod's Official Panthers Mock Draft Rounds 1-3

Ok, fair.. but its also nuts to think he or roberson will be the BPAs at our picks in the 2nd or 3rd, actually thats just downright retarded.

I gave you pie for your sentiment, but "retarded" is such an unnecessary, politically incorrect word.

I feel you though.  There is absolutely no way in hell that Roberson will be the BPA when we pick in round 2.  Absolutely none. ZERO chance.  And to be honest, the Moses pick is arguable, but within the realm of reality. The Abbrederis pick may not be be a total shock in round 3, but I just don't see that either.

This mock scoffs at the BPA philosophy, and I think that Zod is a victim of a self-created smokescreen.  His personal, yet limited, insight into the situation has allowed the FO with its off-season moves in regards to workouts, along with water cooler talk, has done a number on him.

if ur mock doesnt involve trading down or trading hardy, then I'm not interested.  :)

We haven't signed him to a long term deal and this is still a possibility.  Surprised it is not discussed more considering the amount of money we have tied-up in DEs.

If DG did trade Hardy to a team with a top 5 pick, we could end-up with Matthews or Robinson as our franchise LT and still have the 28 pick for a WR, CB or BPA.  This is the only scenario where I don't see us picking OT at 28.

People keep saying he's projected as a 4th rounder, but you need to realize that our pick is so late in the round that we very well may be picking from 4th rounders in round 3, and 3rd rounders in round 2. Nearly all of the players 'projected 3rd round' will be picked over.

i just feel like that there could be a better play-making WR available in the 3rd. we've already signed Cotchery and Avant who would be the same type of WR that Abbrederis is

I feel like we would be wasting a opportunity that this draft is giving us to reload our passing game with young talent.

We may not go WR in the first, but I doubt we wait until the third to address the position.  We've brought in more WR's than any other position and it's not even close, that's a clear sign that they know we are in desperate need at WR.  There is truth to the fact that these guys won't be #1's on day 1, but you have to get some young talent that can develop into that guy, and I'm not sure a 3rd rounder will cut it.  We've gone that route a lot since we drafted smith, and surprise, we've lacked a true playmaker at WR aside from smitty.  I think our pick will be O-line unless for some reason Cooks is there if he's there, then we go Cooks #1, if not, then Kouandjio or Moses will be our pick.  Second will be focused on our WR position, be it Matthews or Moncrief.  I say all of this with no credentials to back up any of my claims.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
