  1. Past hour
  2. Canales is the Young of HCs. He is wildly inconsistent, has a low ceiling and will shock you right before a hard faceplant.
  3. The Saints aren't a good team but they play us hard and know exactly how the Panthers work while being built well agaisnt them. I'm not buying a Panthers win in those circumstances. It's the anti-Falcons type game. I'm not sure on the Bucs. They are also built to win agaisnt this Panthers team. Even without Baker I wouldn't count on a split yet.
  4. I just want everyone to remember this season you are seeing from Bryce Young. Remember all these performances. Then I want to remind you that this is what a Bryce Young career best season looks like.
  5. I have zero faith in this staff to develop a QB via the draft. The team would be far better served with signing a mid tier FA QB who fits the typical mold of what a QB is supposed to be.
  6. I'm OK with Canales for now and would like to see him with a QB that can run his offense. I'm not always enamored with his play calling but I think his choices are definitely limited with the half pint pinto under center. Its truly amazing he won any games with this qb.
  7. They said on the broadcast last night what I have been saying. Canales is limited to what he can do because of Bryce. Last week in Atlanta he seemed genuinely so happy that he got to use most of the playbook and Bryce set a record. But from week to week we never know which Bryce is going to show up. The Atlanta Bryce was obviously a fluke. If he could play Atlanta every week he'd be good.
  8. I've faced the reality that we need a new QB. I have been a very strong supporter of Young but not anymore. We are spinning our wheels if DC, DM and DT believe Young is the Answer. Look how quickly SF moved on from Willis. They realized he wasn't who they thought he was. Got Lucky with Purdy. We have to face the same reality. Until than every season Young is here we will be begging for .500.
  9. We tried throwing it all over the yard last night it didn't work. We even threw it in goal line situations it didn't work.
  10. that INT was on Bryce. Just because the play call may have been "pass" doesn't mean that Bryce can't game-manage into a run when the opportunity presents itself
  11. I mean, I have him a step above Bryce. I may be kidding myself, but Bryce is just an anchor. We might think of Dave so much better if he had an NFL QB who could just run a regular offense.
  12. This is the NFL. No one stumbles into the playoffs. Once you get in, you are a playoff team. You can't win, if you don't get in. I laugh because the same people saying we would only win two to three games this year are upset we aren't leading the division. We are a decent team, not a good one yet. We are relatively young experience wise on offense and it shows In the inconsistency.
  13. abandon hope all ye who enter here... welp one win away from the 7 wins I wanted this season. Goddamn I hate it here
  14. The team overall is light years better than it was 2 years ago and we have all our picks in the next draft and we're not in cap he'll. Canales playcalling is suspect and some decisions are bone headed but I legitimately wonder if some of it's a product of who's at qb. We win in spite of young and lose because of him. For every good game he has 3 or 4 absolute duds. This is not sustainable. Almost every measurable metric says he sucks. He already got 1 coach canned halfway into the season. I'm willing to give Canales a longer leash bc I want to see what he can do with an actual nfl qb
  15. I think we finish 7-10 and will pick after Mendoza, Moore, and Simpson are off the board.
  16. We are past the point of bringing in competition. We need a new QB room, no reason to keep any of this garbage around past this season.
  17. Let me guess, WRs can’t catch can’t get open, O-line sucks, RBs can’t run, playcalling sucks, defense sucks, we have no skill players outside of TMAC, defense was decimated with injuries last night, our offensive line was hurt last night, Bryce’s ankle still hurts, refs were favoring 49ers, 49ers defense were committing flags all night but were uncalled, Bryce was jet lagged from flying cross country, it was past Bryce’s bedtime, Tepper sucks. Please let me know if I missed any reason as to why Bryce did not play well last night.
  18. Really need to bring in some competition next year. Draft a 2nd or 3rd round guy, and bring in a Zach Wilson/ Will Levis to compete. Need something.
  19. This post is not defending Bryce young, but I do want to be as fair as possible. Bryce's rookie year: Throw it out. Period. That was the most dysfunctional situation I've ever seen in the NFL. Not just for the rookie QB, but for everyone involved. Fairly certain we had coaches on staff that weren't speaking to one another by the end of that season. The hatred was real. That said, he (Bryce) still hasn't been good enough. I would love to see these numbers without that season. If anybody has a link for that, I'd appreciate it. Play calling. Canales has to make a decision about who we want to be. We jerk so much between trying to be a slow, methodical, efficient offense, and then going no huddle and throwing it all over the yard. I think part of the reason Bryce has the comebacks is because of course he's more consistent when we are throwing it all over the yard. I think he's better when we are throwing it all over the yard. But that doesn't seem to be what Canales wants to do. This hybrid may be a coaches dream, and guys like Brady may have been able to do it, but Bryce simply can't. Edit: This hybrid/indecision in the playcalling and scheme is literally the reason Bryce has so many game winning drives. We try to play slow, and methodical, and take the air out of the ball every single game, every single possession, until the time and score dictate that we can't. Sometimes it works, and we dominate. In most games, we get about 6 possessions, and so does the other team, and it comes down to who plays better in the 4th quarter. When it doesn't work at all, we are trailing late, and have to go all gas no breaks. When we slow the game down, it's more than likely going to be a one score affair. This is also part of why our record correlates so closely with whether or not we win the opening coin toss. It's almost impossible to win the way we are playing if you don't win the "middle eight." I'm just not sure Bryce is the guy for the system Canales appears to want to run. I'm honestly not sure Chuba is the back for it either.
  20. Saints losing to the Falcons killed their momentum. We definitely could lose to them again though. But I think we even it out at 1-1. It’ll probably be 10x closer than it has to be. And one against the Bucs because how the NFCS is
  21. Canales and Dan aren't tied to Young. They will get a chance with their guy
  22. Minimum 40 games started, 13th worst all time. But GWDs and BTTs amirite?
  23. Yeah but he freezes up too much like last night and against the saints. His game in GB wasn’t great either
