Well besides paying Young $27m for replacement level play of course. There's nothing wrong with the coaching staff and the roster very much is a rebuild in process. It's still not an attractive proposition for a Head Coach with this meddling owner in charge.

I mean Reich literally quiet quit when they drafted Young. You could see the light go out of his eyes. The highly respected NFL HC (and original Panther!) was fired mid-season because he knew he couldn't win with Young. Any self-respecting franchise would have seen his play and pivoted, moving on from Young that year, but no we continue to trot him out there with no competition. It's maddening.

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
R0CKnR0LLA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't worry guys, I'm sure Bryce will come back better than ever in year 4, after his typical offseason regimen of binging Netflix, playing video games and hanging at the mall with his buddies. -
Panthers will be sitting there on draft day with the next Mahomes on the board... pass on him, then turn around and give Bryce an extension

Still a starter

Major Concerns with this team…with numbers
Stumpy replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market. On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size. TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff? -
I don’t think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!

in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft . this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint ...just saying

We have no evidence that Canales is a forward thinker who is willing to make uncomfortable decisions for the betterment of the team. He seems very non confrontational, those types of people won’t make changes unless forced to. Dan Morgan is the same mold as Canales. Which means if changes are made, it’ll only come from one man. That man is David Tepper. But it most likely won’t be until next season.

For the Storm Squad, right? RIGHT?!?

Should Canalas bring someone else in to call offensive plays?
Moonraker replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you bring in an OC to call plays and he's a stud he will be gone in 1 year and you are right back where you started (over and over again). -

I watched the Morgan presser just now. The Evero extension was to align the contract with Canales’. Whatever that really means. Morgan sort of made a point of putting it that way. You could infer a fair amount from that move. For one, it lines up with the thing you guys are saying. Total reboot. Contracts are aligned. -
Your Feelings on Bryce Through 3 Seasons? (POLL)
shaq replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Your debating with emotion I’m disproving the points you make with facts and statistics. You’re using arbitrary opinion statements to make a point that is illogical. We were a -70 point differential team last year, we lost to the saints twice this is a growing and young team not a contender. Clearly your not a Bryce guy, I most likely have a higher opinion of him then you do but that is besides the point. Even with an average to above average QB this is not a contending team. We have far too many holes to fill paired with a nonexistent pass rush. We need to invest in building our defense and let Bryce and this offense to continue to develop. -
If the panthers have the number 1 defense next year and bryce continues to put up the same mediocre numbers you really think the fans that are blind loyal to him are NOT going to give him all the credit for the wins? Lol...thats the end of this discussion right there.

Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well rookie LOT this season could be a rook, ROT next year could be Nijman he looked better this year maybe another year sets him up. Or another journeyman, or a draft pick. Yeah. I mean maybe Icky heals really good and comes back, the 2026 drafted LOT slides over… lots of variables. Moton gone, the Icky 100 million doesn’t get spent, rookie pay scale in place, keep drafting and try to replace the guard$ by the time you need to pay the OTs.. seems workable. Linderbaum or someone else.- 18 replies

Right. I didn’t think it was good either but the QB sure did. He was the defacto number one target, not Chark, was my point.

We could quibble about was that an answer to what I asked but I don’t see it as being one. Look, he agreed to this Evero thing. Up front. Apparently anyway. Took the job with those conditions in place. I buy that and will work off of it. This play calling issue isn’t the same thing. I am not in the mood to delve into Canales’ shortcomings and get out the pitchforks at the moment. I will abstain from that topic and stick to the quandary the dissenters who want to usurp his play calling power, find themselves in. As far as that goes I am still on the fence and think the play calling is Bryce centric and the play selection/playbook is affected. That does not mean I know that if the playbook was open he would be great play caller. Just that he is hampered right now. Inserting an OC not of Canales’ approval changes the original parameters of the assumed agreement. Unless you think Tepper placed a contractual prescription to allow Tepper to dictate that he can insert a play caller of his choosing after a time period if he is not satisfied with Canales’ work. Which, do you really think that is in play? I do not. Unless it is, Canales has the option to yea or nay. As I said, it could be forced on him. But they only do that if they want him out. And as of now his stock is up, I would have to say I don’t own any but I think it is up. He had the stadium rocking, the team in the playoffs, and has that sorry lil draft pick trending upward. Even at this very low rate. I think he has ‘hand’ right now as they say on Seinfeld. This is something that may get play in the 2026 season, not now. IMO.
