BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons

Not sure if they are happy but realize they canβt upgrade everything this year and are content with the group -
Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers

BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons

While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season. -

I am not sold on Wallace yet. Would like to see some real competition at that position specifically. -

I see us winning 9-10 games, which very well be enough to clench the division. My bolder prediction is that our offense finishes top 10. There, I said it! This is based on Bryce's growth on the back half of last season and that every other group on offense has improved, except o-line which was pretty damned good to start with. Obviously, where Bryce goes...so goes our O. I also predict that our defense will NOT be bottom 10. That is a big step coming from the bottom of the barrel! DB is back, Wharton and BB3 are legit, mid-tier starters, and we brought in 3 upgrades at OLB. Safety was upgraded and CB basically stayed the same. -

I'd be surprised if Fuller is starting for them all season. Watts probably takes over sooner vs later for the Falcons. I kind of wanted him in the mid rounds.... -

We may sniff around some safeties but wouldn't be surprised if we don't end up getting one of these guys like Blackmon/Simmons/etc. If we still haven't popped, we should wait and see who ends up available come preseason. Overall, it's not a position I'm super concerned about/low priority. I wouldn't mind seeing how the young guys look. Falcons and us swapping FSs would be meh. (They've got Fuller now) and don't think it serves us well getting a 32 y/o to plop in for a season. Develop. -

Just thinking about the teams that drafted ahead of usβ¦the Raiders improved a lot by adding Geno Smith and Ashton Jeanty, itβs probably reasonable to expect a big jump from them so I can see that one. But I think he also has the Giants ranked ahead of us? That one doesnβt make much sense to me. I donβt feel like the Jags got a lot better either but seems like every year with Trevor Lawrence they get projected as a playoff team preseason and it doesnβt come to fruition. The Patriots? Donβt get that one and he even has us as an underdog to them I think in week 4. Thatβs crazy to me. And then thereβs teams that finished with better records but downward trajectories like the Colts, Cards, Dolphins. Iβm ready to pull this guyβs fan card lol. -
Sure, why not add another high-priced player who disappears in the post season. He'll fit right in! I'll take Mikael Granlund at C and Nikolaj Ehlers at LW, thanks.

I think they are happy with Jewell and Wallace starting this season. Have Rozeboom as a vet for depth. I agree though, after last year that group needs strong depth. -

Tbh I don't know how the other bottom feeders upgraded their rosters to say for sure but 28 feels low, unless you think that stretch end of season was smoke and mirrors. We do need some young guys to step up, but we also just need some injuries to return to form (pretty expected) and FA acquisitions to play to their level last year (pretty reasonable) and at least on D we will be massively improved... -

The interest in Ramsey, now Simmons, and reaching out to Blackmon before the draft makes me feel like our secondary isn't complete yet. -

But wasnβt that the same thing with Fuller? And he was terrible. I feel like we have brought in a lot of guys because of Everoβs familiarity with them and it hasnβt helped at all. Idk why Evero gets such a pass. The Saints scored on every.single.drive week 1 when we were still healthy and had Brown. The Broncos defense got better after he left. When will he stop getting a pass for βnot having playersβ and start getting hammered for not developing players or getting the best out of the players he has? -

Carolina Going to the Super Bowl This Season

Very astute of you! For any that need help with the irrefutable math: AR followed Farves' path exactly ... except that the very last step was altered. Thus, obviously, the very last step in our path will of course be altered to a Super Bowl win. -

I'd rather hear this rumor than some of the crazy ones I've seen over the past month or so. I like the idea of Simmons just because he has history with Evero. Less of a learning curve. AND we could use another veteran safety. -

What does this mean for Julian Blackmon? That seemed like the better option.
