No no no no no no. I agree. Let's not set ourselves back again. The lb from Ohio state looks like an animal
-
I had not heard that thanks.Shula made a mess of things this year.

This is my thinking on them too. We don't know their ceiling yet but their floor looks to be depth. This is such a massive improvement from recent drafts. Of course, it's early enough for them to flop but boy are then early results promising. But to your wider point, I think it would have helped the D a ton if we'd landed an edge at the trade deadline. Ah well.
-
This is where I am. They’re players that will get a second contract in the nfl. That’s a marked improvement from the past couple of drafts, Bryce included.
-
Yeah, he's looking like #1 overall. Beat of luck to him. I have zero desire to bite off another one of those trades.

This Fernando Mendoza kid looks like the real deal! Love watching him play!

From a statistical POV: He's ranked 68th out of 90 safeties. From fan POV: Liability and probably the most complained about non-QB Panther on our roster. Bottom line: He might not be as bad as most think but he's definitely a below average starter at safety. He knows the system and he's a positive at ST though, I can give him that. -
Kasay was injured that year and Graham was his replacement

Panthers agree to 1-year deal with RB Rico Dowdle

This signing is from the spring. This is not a new 1 yr deal -
I’m happy with Princely and Scourton with the understanding that they’ll probably be depth someday. I feel like we “hit” on them at least based on early results. If we are drafting in the middle of the 1st we’ll be too far out for some elite talent. Probably just go O line or LB at that point.
-
Yeah he would be a perfect fit

Hornets gave up 51 first quarter points to the Heat. The only good news is our rookie class looks to be the best we've had in many many years. Bad news is they seem to be outplaying our veterans at times. We need to trade Miles Bridges. Plays way too much iso and just takes poor shots and then does next to nothing on the other end. Can't have your vets playing like this.

Scourtin, I have zero concern about. Not only is he physical but his particular work ethic paired with that motor already tells me what l I need to know. He needs the reps and more time to develop. Right now he's at his floor but he's going to be a monster once he gets comfortable. Wonnum should really be more of a depth peice imo..... also add Pat Jones to that list. We do need another starter opposite Nic. If the plan is to let him develop in that starting role then the other side needs somebody who can run stop and make an immediate impact w/ the pass rush.

Ackbar you are right. But what Electro means is we need quality reinforcements. We need 2 or 3 not 1
-
I think you are somewhat right. Edge is a need, but man when I watch the Panthers on defense Scourton is consistently making plays that open my eyes. His motor is top tier, he seems to get better every week and is getting more playing time. The dude is literally 21 years old. And on top of that, your chart here shows hes getting double teamed more than half the league lol. Why would that be if he wasnt good? Also consider D.Brown is out there drawing double teams as well. To me thats impressive

What I got from this- hes actually capable of being worse -
Especially when you cherry pick stats. He's often the guy on the screen missing the crucial tackle.
-
electro's horse started following Panthers need edge rushers
-
I recently caught a lot of flack for saying I’ve barely noticed scourton or especially wonnum this season and oh look I’m right Left to right is now often they’re doubled. Bottom to top is basically how well they do. So at the bottom left Jordan Burch is basically ignored and does nothing, while at the top right Myles Garrett is playing like a damn Balrog this year. Both wonnum and scourton are performing below expectations standardized against the other edge rushers. Scourton is double teamed more often on average, wonnum is right in the middle. Edge is just as important as qb heading into 2026.

he almost knocked out our best player that afternoon -
I think we should get to 8. Predicting weeks out, is subject to change too much with injuries etc for either team. I said 6 last year, showing that despite my Bryce pessimism I am generally slightly optimistic. If the Saints weren’t a divisional opponent I’d say we should sweep them. It is hard to beat a division rival twice. I really don’t care that much the biggest issue to me is that we get some clarity on our roster moving forward.
