If you remember, Cameron Wolff on NFL Network dropped a pretty big hint last Tuesday. Right after we signed Lloyd and Phillips, he reported the Panthers weren’t finished—they were still targeting a nickel corner. Now that free agency has mostly dried up and there aren’t many real upgrade options left at CB, it feels like any meaningful addition will have to come through the draft. A guy like D’Angelo Ponds at pick 51 seems like a realistic fit. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we end up re-signing Demarri Mathis, who missed all of last season.

His contract tells me he is a place holder for someone who is not currently on the roster.

He will be the bridge qb until the guy they draft is ready to start. He will keep fans interested until the next draft at least. I suppose he could prove to be their guy but he has a bad team to carry and I don't think he can.

Yep, I'd sign it. From a pure football perspective, it sucks. From a winning at life perspective, he literally just won the lottery.

I like McDonald but I feel like 19 may be too high. Though it could end up like when we picked Star at pick 14 since as you said McDonald is a pretty good DT.

I honestly feel bad for Willis. I mean, good that he got a decent (NFL QB speaking) payday and will be set for life, but in terms of actually competing and providing he's a legit starter? The Dolphins are gonna carry $175M in dead cap this year and they have an out in Willis' contract after the 2027 season. This seems like the most obvious tank job in history with Willis signed as cover for it.

All I noticed is how well Blake Miller moved on pulls and in space. I'm thinking it should be Miller Time in Carolina. I think with half a season of coaching that either Miller or Iheanachor could end up at LT, specifically Iheanachor with his footwork and those super long arms. I am using Kelce more as an example of what people think you get with a 1st round TE. 3 f the top 4 yardage guys of all time are 1st rounders. I think. But realize these would be the guys with super long careers, and/or top QBs throwing to them. We don’t have a top QB. And there have been Plenty of first round disappointments too.
