I can see them extending him with a low hit in 2026 that jumps much higher in 2027.

From what I can tell from Jags fans on their forums, they plan to extend him with a new contract rather than use the option. The fifth year option would make him one of the highest paid LBs in the league and it's cheaper to just give him a new deal.
