He had character concerns and off the field red flags pre draft. That's enough to take him off a lot of people's board but I dunno if anyway foresaw how bad how fast it was going to get. It was really bad but from the sound of it, it could've been a lot worse

It was no secret that this kid was a mess off the field. And the falcons still decided to trade away a first round pick to take him. That's just negligence on their part.

Jets would have owed him 3.5M, and we signed him for 1.9M. Jets didn't want to pay that when he had a 12.1% drop rate and only catching 3 of 8 contested targets. XL had an even higher drop rate his rookie season but he improved on that last year.

Not to toss this group in dirt, I just have a collection of players were Im viewing them as non-panthers until I hear their names in OTAs, mini, and TC. Wallace, brooks, XL, Ickey, Thor, and zanzilla..... Just feel its best for Panthers to act that way and to address the positions as such. Draft, FA 2nd waves, waiver claims, trades, and UDFA pool to fill the roster numbers........ let each force the Panthers to recognize

He did redeem himself, big time. One spot he's done great in the UFDA pool, here's a list of found players- Coker, Fitz, Thor, harrsion-hunte, Bam, and Richardson. All have help whether depth or snaps or GW kicks. If he has another 2025 draft haul, Panthers would have a winning season. He's on decent terms with me, I just wished he'd bring to the QB room....just a huge flaw..

I'd be concerned if his 2nd draft was worse than his first. He's learning, getting better. One more 25- like class and we're close to a viable core.

Saying he had a good year last year is not crowning him. I think he learned from his mistakes, but most GMs are failures regarding the draft. I don't know why drafting players who can contribute is so difficult.

Honestly I still feel edge is still in the top 3-4 needs, about the only change is no longer need to use the first or second or even third picks on edge. disclaimer- huge DL/edge whore. If the 3rd is BPA edge, why not me says....
