Anybody besides me nervous about offensive tackle?

As we all know, the best prospect for OT that is on the team right now is probably Bell, and I'm not sold on the idea that he can protect Cam on a consistent basis. Looking at the remaining OT's left in the draft, I really don't see anyone who has the ability to become a starter this season...  is this pretty much what everyone else is thinking or is there a hidden gem left that Dave will surprise us with?

I really trust Gettleman and Rivera to find an answer, even if just temporary. Lets be completely honest. Bell at LT would suck but it would not be the end of the world, and he would be good enough not to cause us to lose games. If we draft a OT in Rds 2 or 3, it's pretty likely he'll start at RT, maybe even LT, and while that would be a downgrade from Gross, it would be a huge upgrade over Bell (I understand he'll likely start at the other spot, but we have time to find a true answer, Bell will do just fine for now if it even comes to that). So we'd be in a similar position to last season, even with Bell starting. I'm a tad nervous, but I'm very far from worried about it.

Gross said Bell could play LT

Rivera said Bell could play LT

Gettleman said Bell could play LT

Kalil said Bell could play LT

Huddle says bell can't play LT

I am in the wait and see category myself.   I am sure there will be some OL drafted and then it's a best man up type of mentality.

Anyone can play any position. The question is will be be good.

Bell sucks and unfortunately is our only T on the roster with any experience. What you expect Gross and the coaches to say?

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
