3rd Round Pick Trai Turner G LSU

Good point by James Dator on Twitter: Kalil, Turner, Silatolu....that's actually, a GOOD core we have on the line now. Tackles yeah okay, but the line as a whole isn't nearly as bad as we're thinking/thought.

Good point indeed (shocking coming from Dator).  Remember the OL the Saints had when they won the SB?  Their OTs both SUCKED.  And that was a team that depended heavily on the offense.  We can win with what we have now.  I'd like to see some talent added at OT, but I'm not gonna rage if there isn't.

Probly so because our dept is so thin. I could see kug and Wharton as our back ups.

Wharton IMO will be too expensive as a backup. We thought his price was really to big when we wanted him to be our bandaid starter. I think he retires.

The gap between any OT we could have had with this pick and what is likely available tomorrow in the 4th isn't as large as some seem to think. Turner would be long gone by the 4th.

Right now no OT will be a starter right away but we could find some good depth at this point.

Very possible but you really can't put a price on a good back up G and a emergency T. We are just that thin at oline right now.

I hope we keep Wharton. I think we need him....leadership on line and diverse backup value.

They just seemed to complain about his price a lot last year

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
