Vacation Advice

If you were choosing between a vacation in Germany & Austria or Spain, Andorra, and Portugal, which would you choose and why?

I plan to go for 14-19 days in July.

I'm pretty much equally interested in both, so if anyone has been and has any interesting things to share about either location to sway my opinion I would appreciate it.

How hard/expensive would it be to go to Spain, Andorra, and Portugal and then take a train, plane or automobile to Germany for a weekend?  My sister just got back from visiting Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy and France.  Out of those, she probably preferred Germany over Spain and Portugal, but she also knew people that lived there from when she studied abroad.

I've done Germany/Switzerland and would certainly recommend it if you know the right spots.

But my Uncle and his wife did their honeymoon in Portugal and the pictures and stories were awesome. Plus a work associate has a house in southern Spain and just loves it. I would choose that area for sure for my next trip.

I'm all in with Spain and Portugal, except we were looking at Cartagena, Almeria and Malaga further down the coast. From there it's an easy hop across the Med to Algiers or Tangiers... even Casablanca.

Had never thought about hopping over to North Africa from Spain. Not a bad idea.

I can recommend Spain as I have traveled in it before, I've also heard great things about Portugal. It actually wouldn't be that hard to visit both, but you may be interested in quality over quantity

My favorite places in Spain were: Granada, Valencia, and Madrid

I actually didn't get to see Barcelona but I heard great things about it.

    • Yep, the Panthers powers that be seem desperate to convince themselves he can clear the bare minimum bar of demanding a legit franchise QB contract. Canales seems to be laying the groundwork here of building the case that all of Bryce's shortcomings are still there and even more glaring than you may have thought while his strengths aren't nearly as strong as you had hoped and aren't near enough to make up for the lack of pure physical tools. When you have historically anomalous lack of measurables you need historically anomalous positive intangibles to make up for it. That was always issue with Bryce as a prospect. Like Parcells said when evaluating him, "he better walk on water".
    • I'm honestly not sure how much "west coast" plays into it. There's a huge difference between Tucson, AZ and Spokane, WA where he spent the previous two decades of his career. Chapel Hill is significantly different than Spokane but way more similar to it than Tucson. You're talking about a pretty significant plane ride to get back home either way. He and his family would be flying private and direct so we're talking about a 3ish hour flight vs. a 5ish hour flight. That's basically a wash. It's not like he went from Gonzaga to another PNW program. Tucson is a dramatic departure from Washington state. Honestly a far bigger departure climatically and scenery wise than Chapel Hill would be.
    • When asked if he thought he was close to returning to game action, "When you skate just with the goalie coach, it's tough to understand what your level is. Today, Svech scored on me a couple — probably a bad moment for me. I don't know. I'm probably very far from play if he scores on me." God, I love Kucci!
