Here is just one of the several web sites I visit from time to time that follows the NFL, and I found it kind of interesting that they believe that some of the very players that we were at least reported to be possibly interested in making our first pick made their draft steals list. And, it's always nice to see your team's player on the list. Some say that nothing jumps out at them about Ealy, but you can't deny his production in college football's best conference

I wonder if Kelvin Benjamin would have made this list hadn't we picked him up.  I really don't believe that he would have. I can't say that he would have made it out the first round.

10. Aaron Murray

9.   Carlos Hyde

8.   David Yankey

7.   Cody Latimer

6.   Morgan Moses

5.   Jordan Tripp

4.   Derek Carr

3. Kony Ealy (DE | Carolina Panthers)

Ealy is a big-time playmaker

Playing on one of the best team’s in college football, Ealy posted a monster 2013 season. In 14 games, he recorded 14.5 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks, while also forcing three fumbles and intercepting a pass. In other words, he’s a disruptive presence on the field. But for some reason, that wasn’t enough for most NFL teams, as the speed rusher fell all the way to No. 60, where the Panthers grabbed him late in the second round.

2.   Marquise Lee

1.   A.J. McCarron

Hit on the link to see their remaining summaries.  Like anything else, it's all guesswork, but it's not like there's much of anything else going on.

Ealy is no doubt a huge steal.

But, would have rather had Moses who happens to be #6...I guess Gman must have been really low on him though.

I was just watching moses' game tape and he doesn't look that impressive to me. He was getting pushed back a lot into the qb and got beat on a couple of plays. I really think for gettleman it was just a case of moses wasn't better than anyone on our roster.

I think Yankey is the ultimate steal this year. He is a beast of a man and can play pretty much any position on the line. Was given a borderline 1st round grade by a few people this offseason and fell to what the 6th!?

my guess is because he's a pass blocker and we are looking for a mauler.

That or he felt chandler was just as good

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
