As a younger man I drank many a 40 straight out of the bottle. Just don't sip it like a little nancy girl and it'll still be cold at the end.

Go a little north of uptown and you'll see plenty of folks drinking 40's sans 'proper glassware'. Majority of em are from the USA.

america drinks cold beer because it's what the major beer companies/ distributors sell.  mass-produced  cheap lager and malt liquor needs to be cold.
