Lance Stephenson signing and it's big picture impact

Recommended Posts

I'm usually not much of a grammar nazi, but if you want to be taken seriously you really have to do better than that. And national sports radio? What credibility is that? What does a sports radio jock know about marketing concepts? Hell, those guys just rattle on about anything and everything to get a couple of viewers.

I understand your skepticism and respect anyone working in your field because that's the field I want to break in to...not trying to start an argument, but an ex nfl player does have credibility at least in my eyes....I think it's just about analyzing trends in sports...if we can have consistent winners in both sports and attract some of those transplanted fans that live in the CLT area, it helps to build a sports culture. I simply think Cam and lance are 2 pieces to a bigger puzzle in making our wonderful area a more attractive location for future free agents

Its nice that the team is getting better but he isn't going to get big free agents to think man Lance Stephenson is here!!! I better think twice about Charlotte.

If you ask Lebron, Mellow, or even a bottom tier 1 star. They are going to pause and laugh at your face if you think Lance Stephenson is even going to make a dent in persuading them to join.

Sadly the hornets have about the same rep as the Jags. Most players/bball fans still think Charlotte has a poo team.

The only way to get out is to draft the next Kevin Durant.

anyone know if the Hurricanes are making any good moves in their offseason?

They are in terrible shape overall. Think our cap hell with less than average talent. We have some good pieces but we have missed on way too many draft picks and signed too many players who did not pay off.

Lance Stephenson is going to be the Steve Smith of the Hornets. A little crazy with a chip on his shoulder and not scared of anyone.

Fans are going to love him. Just watch

I seriously am going to make it a point to be a true fan again because of this. This the one that won me back to basketball. I havent followed it in 5 years or so.

    • I am gonna believe it wasn’t us if the 4th round pick price is accurate. We needed 225 points to get from 19 to their pick. 875 at 19 to 1100 at 14.  Our 2026 4th was valued at 56 points I think. A future 4th has less value. So that wasn’t close to enough.    It would have taken our third and our fourth. Comes within a point of even.    Now, moving to their spot in the second round we could have done but after Miami took Rodriguez why would we?
    • Yep,and Blake Miller have had more experiences than Freeling,Lions did not sigh a vet T like Walker,so they had to pick Miller.
    • I mean it's expected.  This is the NBA.  And they hate the Charlotte Hornets.  Flagg was also the guy "magically" given to the Mavs who lost Luca to the wildly popular Lakers.  Was always an uphill battle.  But the award is BS since it's not voted on before play-in starts. Kon probably lost because of the play-in as many people switched votes.  It was a regular season award, so this is some nonsense.  Kon also didn't have the luxury of taking 10 games off to rest up injuries like Flagg did.  If he did, he wouldn't have been nursing his back the last month.  I mean, screw him for being on an actual playoff team that matters.  Flagg took tons of shots a game, he was wildly inefficient.  Kon was a huge reason the Hornets made the play-in and turned the season around after Jan.   I think Flagg will probably be the better player long term, or at least the most impact.  But Kon should have won ROTY.
