I am more worried about Cotchery then Avant.  JC doesn't seem to be anywhere near the same page as Cam.  Avant at least had a good catch against KC last week.

 

People keep saying Bersin isn't a #2 but the man gets open and he has as good of hands as KB or Avant. 

 

I would love to see him move into the #2 spot against Pittsburgh.  Let's see what he can do opposite KB.

Cotchery and Avant both have track records that speak for themselves and although they are older, their game isn't extremely speed-reliant. I am not worried about either one. Cotchery has also proven in the past that he can make the transition to new team/oc/QB. Not worried about them at all.

 

Honsetly, I'm a little more worried about Cam and the Oline combination. Cam seems a little frantic back there and is tucking the ball way too often. At times, it is hard to tell whose fault it is but it wasn't pretty.

Cam is in love with KB and that's great, but KB is gonna start drawing a crowd, and Cam will need to start finding his vets. Between so many new receivers, and Cam's ankle recovery, not surprising the QB/receiver chemistry isn't there yet. Hopefully Cotch and Avant will start getting some Cam love and we'll see more dump offs and fewer sacks.

      I look at it like get on top of the situation. Stay ahead of it. If it costs you a year of not drafting a starter at number three WR in the first so be it. We need new blood there in 2027 if not 2026, and need to get some OL on rookie deals.   At the same time the big picture is considered, we have a QB that has yet to earn an extension and you can go glass half full if you want but he had about half the good games that he needed to have. Fewer, IMO, but the point is he is not a lock to earn an extension.    Which would really put next year’s number one in play for QB and take OT off the table. So I think it needs to be on the table this year.

Interior offensive is typically the way to go Top-end offensive line talent is far less likely to be available via trade or free agency compared to other positions year to year, only emphasizing the importance of the draft   My words: we were forced to make some big signings on interior after years of poor OL drafting and neglect. It worked but isnt sustainable. We need to get right. Drafting tackles high is a successful formula. We need to start now to have any hope going forward.
