"They talking about us" - Lions forum sweep

London Loves Luke

So after a week of reading hillbilly insults and wild predictions on the Tampa forums I've finally managed to stop laughing at the biblical comedown that they've fallen into:

post-16231-0-39081400-1410341736_thumb.p

On to the Lions, I thought I'd post some of the best quotes and threads from their forums so far. On the whole there's a mixture of tempered optimism after the Giants blow out, healthy respect of our defense + new WRs and some "hilarious" reaction to SCPs gameweek post.

The Den - Already some Huddlers (Maulclaw, Razor) representing here.

http://det.scout.com/forums/1801-the-den/13133705-active-panthers-community?s=93&p=1

"Panthers defense is legit. Lions need to bring their "A" game. If we protect Stafford....there will be plays to be made down field for the Lions. We must give protection because we WILL NOT be running the ball against this defense.....especially with what we saw on monday night."

This joker:

I've lived in Charlotte for 10 years now and I can tell you a lot about the Panther fan base. It is an extremely uninformed bunch as a whole. Bank of America Stadium is not a "live" stadium and is very Road team friendly.

I'd give you pie....but there's no pie tab.

Detroit lions forum: Not much posted yet but great thread title and SCPs post shows up to cause equal amounts of anger and respect

Lions 27 Panthers 8

How dare someone write so much hate and filth in a game week thread. Is nothing sacred? Taking shots at a city, its citizens, and finally using a sick sense of humor to devolve back to 3rd grade by telling us all to suck it. What's next? Poop humor? An outrage I tell you.

As expected, nothing on the official forum apart from:

I am 37 year old disabled Vet attending my first game ever on sept.14th. I will be in the nosebleeds and am hoping i will not be completly surrounded by panther fans. Please tell me there will be some of our den here. I believe i will be in section 500's. Is there a way to get autographs or pictures. Any advice would be greatly apreciated on making thos experance even better.

Hope he enjoys his first game and the trip to BofA.

Gameweek thread from the Lions Report. Not sure I understand all of it (we don't get "moundbillies" in London) but it seems pretty entertaining.

So the Lions travel to the land of racists and biscuits after a Monday night win. After beating the NY little goober brigade down, Lions fans should be excited. However, this Carolina team should be solid and their fans have postponed the Bigfoot hunting season to take notice.

The Lions will have some obstacles to face beginning with the flight into Banjoville. If any of those tuhbacky chawin’ yocals see a flyin’ contraption that close to their compound, they might just think it is something to take a shot at with ol’ Betsy. Let’s hope they are too busy stuffin’ “all the way” slop burgers down their stained wife-beater covered pot bellies to take aim out the trailer window. Speaking of wife beaters, we heard y’all gots one dem on your foosball team. We will forgive you though because justice is on its way, and its name is the Lions’ D. Y’alls might want to learn that Cam another gear or his superman pose is going to be more akin to ruptured spleenman.

Certainly that government bailout stadium will be full of Krispy Kreme triple XLs stuffed into mesh midriff #1 jerseys. By the way, there’s a whole other set of squigglies that come after that. They’re called numbers and if you see them on anything flying, it is not a UFO or a hurricane. It is likely Megatron burning your secondary for a TD. I digress. This should be a good test for the Lions. Either they will be put into their rightful place by a better Panther team or they will come through and send the moundbillies back to their FEMA trailers to wash away the pain in moonshine and a VHS recorded Richard Petty marathon.

What the hell, pass the kool-aid.

I'll give credit where due, that is funny. It doesn't rise to SCP's level, but funny nonetheless.

What's funny is everything he said about us, I've seen firsthand in Michigan and even in that run down shithole of a city they call Detroit.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

I was born in NC and come there multiple times a year and I see none of what the dude said. It would've of been more funny if I could I understand the cracks he was trying to make at us...

Regardless, I'm pretty sure every state has a "southern" part of town.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Vikings bring back a familiar face Vikings get: WR Adam Thielen Panthers get: 2026 sixth-round pick, 2027 seventh-round pick A reunion between Thielen and his former team seems too easy. The Vikings are struggling with injuries at wide receiver and a potential Jordan Addison suspension. The Panthers want to see what they have with their younger wideouts, and Hunter Renfrow's emergence in camp as a potential fourth or fifth option could squeeze a roster spot for Thielen, who doesn't play special teams. The problem is Thielen's $6.25 million base salary. The Vikings obviously would prefer the Panthers cut the 34-year-old and pick him up for free, but Carolina already paid Thielen a $1.5 million roster bonus earlier in the offseason, suggesting it expected to have him. His salary isn't yet guaranteed, but it will become so if he's on the roster in Week 1, leaving the Panthers until then to make a decision. If he does get released, he isn't likely to get anything close to $6.25 million from another team, so he also is facing some uncertainty. All sides involved probably would need to give a bit to make a mutually advantageous deal work. The Panthers would eat $1.5 million of Thielen's contract, getting two of the three picks the Vikings got from the Jets in the Harrison Phillips trade in return. Thielen would take a $1 million pay cut in return for having the remaining $3.8 million guaranteed. The Vikings cleared out almost exactly that much when they made the Phillips trade, allowing them to absorb what's left of Thielen's contract as part of the deal. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46053274/nfl-preseason-trades-2025-team-offers-players-draft-picks-contracts
    • From JoeBucsFan. Teams don't usually waste 2nd round picks like that. Kind of sounds like they think he just doesn't belong in the NFL.
