Why we lost...

I didn't stay up to see the entire game. I taped it and will see the rest today. What I did see was Bell getting beat all game resulting in two holding penalties and one sack fumble . No way we can win this way. The rest of the 0-line didn't do much better. We have to upgrade our line or Cam doesn't finish the season.

Sad thing is it isn't possible to get a quality upgrade at this point. I agree with everything you said though. I am willing to trade a fourth round pick at this point if we can get a quality lineman.

The refs last night were bad, but they seemed impartial. BS excuse.

The Steelers do NOT have a good defense. However, our bad offensive line having a HORRIBAD night + Shula being clueless against a 3-4 (as usual) is a horrible combination.

If you read my post I was not making excuses. Still it is something you have to overcome if you want to beat them.

O LINE and running game. Cam will never be his true self without a decent running attack, hes just not that polished of a passer. Hopefully they can fix this poo

Cam had one of his better passing games when he was upright. His passes started to sail after Pitt player hit his knees but that's about it

I agree he did but that will not be enough to win with a CFL O line and average receivers.  We have to run, we have to run play action.....  Huge hole on that D line without Hardy in there, its looking like tagging him was a massive mistake

We lost because we miss hardy I hate to say that but he was good at stopping the run

Not going that far, but it would have made a difference.  He doesnt just try to skirt around the tackle all day like addison, he beats their ass and gets them fatigued, opening the door for mental mistakes.  fug Ray RIce

I'm not gonna blame any player for being a competitor.

But by golly I got tired of watching the guy who's meant to be our franchise quarterback for the next ten years get beaten like a drum behind poor protection tonight, especially when it became painfully obvious he wasn't healthy enough to protect himself either..

And that is one of my two points...he has a shitty oline, he can't move, he is a sitting duck, combine that with long developing routes or his inability to quickly find a receiver or no receiver open, and this is a disaster

If he needs to sit and heal sit and heal

Give the team to Anderson for 2 weeks

before the season the front office spoke about how we ran for over 100 yards in 13 games last season and most of the people on the huddle said it was a mirage and Cam was propping the running game up. well Cam is banged up and is not as much of a threat and guess what the running game sucks ass. who didnt see this coming?

    • That depends on where he's at because if you look at his first 3 seasons before he got sick he had 49 rec as a rookie followed by 56 and then his pro bowl season he had 103 rec. If he's somewhere between seasons 2 and 3 then that wouldn't be bad at all. We'll have to wait and see but from the few clips I've seen and the comments I've heard and read I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. Personally, I'm really pulling for him and I think he's going to be the comeback player of the year.
    • More praise of Renfrow from Tim Weaver (formerly of USA Today's Panthers Wire, now SI.com), and also what I told some of you, my Huddle friends, from the start: keep it all in perspective, and don't conveniently---and perhaps unfairly, discount and label Renfrow as a JAG when it was a very debilitating illness affecting his play.    "It's understandable to be skeptical about Renfrow's abilities at this late point in his career. After all, he missed all of last season due to a bout of ulcerative colitis that also took a serious toll on his production in 2022 and 2023."   When Renfrow is healthy, he's an above average guy. Being 29 may hurt or help his chances depending upon perspective, but 29 for receivers generally means that there's still (sometimes plenty) gas in the tank. Renfrow also obviously has plenty of motivation and has come with his game face.   "Then agan, seeing is believing and by all accounts Renfrow has been very impressive since joining the Panthers a few months ago... Where Renfrow will fit in Carolina's new-look receiver corps remains to be seen, but at this rate it's going to be hard to exclude him from the initial 53-man roster." https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/hunter-renfrow-sick-route-panthers-training-camp Read the room, ladies and gentlemen. And don't get it twisted; Renfrow isn't the most talented receiver on the team, but we have seen his ceiling, when healthy, in a Raiders offense that wasn't necessary replete with talent. Consider what he can do, especially in the slot, in a Panthers offense primed with young talent (no pun intended). From sick to "sick routes," eh?
