The cap failures were only part of it.

His trades were equal failures.

How JR sat in a coma all those years and retained Hurney is a mystery.

1. Carolina traded their 2009 first-round selection, and its 2008 second- and fourth-round selections to Philadelphia for its 2008 first-round selection (19th overall, Carolina selected Jeff Otah)

2. Carolina traded their 2010 first-round selection to San Francisco for a 2009 second- (43rd overall; Carolina selected Everette Brown) and fourth-round selections (111th overall; Carolina selected Mike Goodson)

3. Carolina traded their 2011 second-round selection (#33 overall!) to New England for a 2010 third- (89th overall; Carolina selected Armanti Edwards)

NO NO NO NO, don't take my mind back there.... I don't wanna go!

And theeeeen we decided it was cool to pay 13 mil to a single player not named Cam or Luke. And we ended up screwed anyways. Proof that paying for overpriced players doesnt always guarantee production. The NFL really is a crapshoot business. I kinda feel bad for Gettleman in this whole situation. Makes him look like an idiot even though theres no way he could have known this would happen.

Although on the other hand he had zero business paying money like that for a player who could jave been easily replaced in FA for half the price. Nobody on this team beaides Cam and Luke should even get close to that level of pay grade. Period. A cheaper replacement with minimal drop off can always be had on the market.

Please Gett Dawg, never overpay for a player again.

Shuda ditched at least one if them years ago so we cab get a proper Oline.

The contracts were so bad you couldn't get rid of them.  A contract can be structured in a way that you actually lose cap space by letting a player go.  We would have had less money to spend on an Oline player

It is time to move on from these two no matter what it costs us money wise.  To not do so will cost us games.  You cant tell me shi tsburgs line is that much better than ours.  They just have rb s that are better than ours.

Their Oline was opening up big holes in that game. I am sure if we had the same thing happen that night, our rbs would have ate them up but we didn't. We will be fine. I think we get caught up into the numbers and figures too much. We are fans, all I am worried about is cheering for my team and the players on it. I leave the FO to do their job concerning contracts.

After 2016-17

i love using Spotrac. Deangelo can be cut this coming offseason and only cost us 300k more in dead money than his contract would cost us. that means he is probably gone by the start of the 2015 season. Stewart's dead money actually saves us 2.2 million if we cut him following the 2015 season, so he will be gone by the start of the 2016 season.

in short: Deangelo is gonna be gone after this season. Stewart will be gone after next season.

This is hilarious.

You guys need to look up the DWill and Stew extension threads.  There was so much "hurney magic", "hurney got dis", and "yall fools don't know how the salary cap works".....

There were 3 or 4 of us that was screaming about these deals...the rest were saying we weren't Panther fans.

Please you guys, look at how contracts effect the salary cap before thanking Jesus every time we sign a player to an extension.

Honestly if we would have paid one of them it would not have hurt so bad but the double trouble contract was what got us. I was in favor of nether because running production comes from a line not a back.
