peppers humiliated us in his first game back too.  had a freaking interception off a tipped pass, ran like ten yards downfield so that he was all by himself, and gave the "shush" gesture to the crowd.

At this point, who gives a fug?  Seriously, 89 is gone, the decision was made, and it has to be accepted by everyone, including Smitty.  He's still playing, still getting paid (from 2 teams in fact) and has a better shot to get a ring this year than he would have if he stayed.  Bottom line is its a business and decisions get made like this all the time.  Most of the time the employee getting 'cut' hasn't made millions and can't retire at any moment.  Do I miss Smitty?  Yes.  Do I think the team is better off without him?  Yes, we needed him out so we could develop chemistry between Cam and KB.  With 89 in the mix, that would have stunted the relationship between Cam and KB.  There's a reason why we could never develop a solid #2 behind Smitty, and 89 was one of those reasons.  Smitty is in a better place now, he needs to realize that.  So are we.

You dont get it.  Smitty was too comfortable here - and had gotten lazy.  The guy would have had another mediocre to poor showing this year if he had stayed here.  Gettleman did him a huge favor.

Nope never been top 5 at anything but what I have done is spend 27 months in Iraq and Afghanistan and missed birthdays and anniversaries so really. Stop fuging whining.
